The first quadrennial election in Linquenda is scheduled for Thursday, December 10, 2020, Voters will elect the next Mayor-President of Linquenda All candidates has to register until September 1 . The final list will announced on the same day.

The incumbent Shady Morsi was eligible to run. He declared his intent to do so on July 22 being widely expected to win. Meanwhile the only other candidate is Senator Rory Hartwijk a frequent critic of the Morsi-DeWitt government

Background

As signed by the Linquendan Constuition The Mayor-President of Linquenda is directly elected for a term of 4 years, As written in Article 10 of the Constitution of Linquenda, a candidate for president must be at least 18 years old on the day of the election Parties are able to nominate a candidate to run for the office, Independent candidates have to collect at least 10 signatures

Morsi

Shady Morsi announced his intention to run for the presidency on July 22 he traveled to different boroughs across Linquenda to open campaign offices and meet with his supporters, The primary focus of Morsi's campaign is combating climate change and to make Linquenda more an international nation.

Morsi's lists the main principles of his presidential program: combating climate change, improving the structure, focusing on getting independence instead of remaining a "stereotypical micronation"

Hartwijk

His policies is about income and wealth inequality, which he argued is eroding the middle class, and on campaign finance reform. In July, Hartwijk stated that he will be visiting several major cities across the country to raise support.
