It succeeded 2020, and preceded 2022. It marks the sixteenth year since MicroWiki's initial foundation. The Coronavirus pandemic continued throughout the year.

Wiki admins who continued serving were Adam I, Emperor of Adammia, and tech admins who continued were Luxor and Andrew. Ives Blackwood was dismissed as a wiki admin in March as a result of a sockpuppeting scandal. Abrams I, King of Ikonia resigned from his position as tech admin in April, and Anthony Clark,Otto Gillespie Birch and Harry Fitzpatrick were both promoted to wiki admins. Promoted Patrollers included Aidan McGrath, Christina Nowell, Daniel Hamilton, Varuna Sriraya and Matthew Hubbard. Summits

Hosting Diplomatic summits remained difficult due to the COVID-19 pandemic, however became less difficult as restrictions were eased in numerous macronations. MicroCon 2021 will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States,[14] It will be hosted by Westarctica and co-hosted by the Kingdom of Shiloh.[15] whilst PoliNation 2021 and a Brazilian summit are currently scheduled for later this year.

Furthermore, a number of state visits and smaller meet-ups took place, such as Desert Districtee First Secretary James Bornstein's meeting with Kodrolian Emperor Elder on 24 February 2021.[16]

The first - though unofficial - summit of the United Carolusian Conference took place on 4 November with those present including Charles Madgett, the King of Naga, and Cam of Lateritia. After the summit, Charles and the King of Naga had an informal meeting discussing Naga's ideals and foreign policy. Plans for another summit were made that day afterwards.

The article of the Grand Republic of Cycoldia covered in advertisements on April Fools 2021

Currently, MicroWiki has 39,722 articles, 234,990 pages and 82,569 registered users. In early January, MicroWiki migrated the website to a new server provider for better stability, and set up a Patreon.[17] The main page was redesigned for the first time in several years.[18] For April Fools'–an annual tradition on MicroWiki–large advertisements blocking the view of content popped up on most pages approximately every minute. Visual editor was disabled on 22 April 2021 when a glitch with visual editor was discovered. The glitch caused references to be removed while in visual editors.[19] It was later re-introduced with an update to MicroWiki

Sports

The 2021 MOF Games, 2021 MFF World Cup and 2021 Micronations World Cup are scheduled to commence.[citation needed] The 2021 Adammic Chess Open occurred from 30 January to 6 February. Artemis Baca won the tournament beating Sir Alex Waters.

  2. The Gayverian-Ausverian War initially began on 14 March 2021 after a majority vote in the Gayverian voting hall supporting the declaration of war against Ausveria. The declaration of war was initially met with confusion and humorous remarks from members of the Ausverian government.
  3. Conflict broke out initially when Reunited Ocean States declared war on the Great Lawl Reich on 31 January 2021, followed by the Aleunnic Workers' Republic's declaration of war.[7][8] The Republic of Tueoedeth declared war on the Great Lawl Reich the same day, citing diplomatic disputes with the leadership of the Micronational Assembly at the time.[9] Faltree issued an official declaration of war against Great Lawl Reich on 2 February 2021.[10]

On 28 April 2021, the apparent dissolution of the Dominion of Vancouver Island[11] led to the Vancouver Island Soviet Socialist Republic to begin trying to re-establish itself.[12] The dissolution of the Dominion of Vancouver Island led to the Commonwealth of British Dominions making a statement on 30 April 2021 calling the region "too unfit",[13] formalizing the then mostly unrecognized claim on the island by the Dominion of West Canada. This action led the Vancouver Island Soviet Socialist Republic and the Greater Cascadian Republic to attempt to intervene claiming themselves as the correct claimants and owner of Vancouver Island.
