Adammic Weather Office
|Formed||27 October 2013|
|Dissolved||4 March 2023|
|Jurisdiction||Empire of Adammia|
|Parent department||Ministry of National Development|
The Adammic Weather Office was an agency of the Imperial Government in the Empire of Adammia, operated by the Ministry of National Development. It was responsible for monitoring the weather affecting the Empire's territory, advising the public and the government about the weather conditions, and issuing weather warnings if necessary. It was created on 27 October 2013 by the Weather Office Act 2013. On 4 March 2023, the Government Ministries and Agencies Act 2023 abolished the agency, and recreated a Weather Office as a sub-division of the Adammic Imperial Space Agency.
The Weather Office has a history of being neglected - originally assigned to the Ministry of Information, it was moved to the Environment Ministry by the Legislative Amendments Act 2013 in December of that year. It was then left in political limbo after the Government Bodies and Postal Service Act 2014 failed to classify it as an agency or a government-owned company; Imperial Decree XXIII rectified this error a few weeks later. Despite being officially unstaffed, work had been carried out by Emperor Adam I on behalf of the weather office, implementing its Met Office widgets for Leeds, Sandbach and Crediton on the Adammic website and occasionally issuing weather warnings when he has felt it necessary. After months of being unstaffed, the Weather Office was finally assigned its first director, the Emperor, by Winifred Hall, Minister of the Environment, during a meeting of the Ruling Council on 8 June 2014.
The Adammic Weather Office issued weather warnings during the following events:
- 27 October 2013 - Weather warning in response to the storm affecting Great Britain which prompted the creation of the Office.
- 5 December 2013 - Severe weather warning for Adammic citizens living in the south of England.
- 12 February 2014 - Severe weather warning in response to a large storm hitting Great Britain, during which Creatuxia was declared in a state of emergency.
- 12 September 2017 - Weather warning in response to Storm Aileen.
