A referendum was held in the Empire of Adammia on 28 October 2017 to determine if the proposed Fourth Amendment to the Supreme Directive should be adopted. The result was overwhelming support for adopting the amendment.

Background

The referendum was announced by Emperor Adam I on 27 October 2017. The Fourth Amendment was designed to complement the Empire of Adammia Act 2017 as the Adammic government prepared to relocate to newer, Birmingham-based territories. Its main effect was to remove the minimum term length, allowing for early elections. The referendum was ongoing as the Empire of Adammia Act was passed, meaning that it took place in both the First and Second Eras of Adammic history.
