Kingdom of Africa (Arabic: مملكة افريقيا), is a self-declared country which lies between an uninhabited parcel of land Bir Tawil, between Egypt and Sudan. It was proclaimed on 8 June 2020.[1]

The size of the land in question is 2,060 km2 (800 sq mi), or roughly the same as Mauritius. It has not been administered by Egypt or Sudan. The land lacks infrastructure and lies on a desert. The official website of Africa does not state the reason for the creation of the nation.

Geography

Africa is 2,060 km2 (795 sq mi) in size. The length of its northern and southern borders are 95 kilometres (59 mi) and 46 kilometres (29 mi) respectively; the length of its eastern and western borders are 26 kilometres (16 mi) and 49 kilometres (30 mi) respectively. In the north of the area is the mountain Jabal Tawil (جبل طويل), with a height of 459 metres (1,506 ft). In the east is Jebel Hagar ez Zarqa, with a height of 662 metres (2,172 ft). In the south is the Wadi Tawil (وادي طويل), also called Khawr Abū Bard.[2]

Government

Under the Kingdom of Africa's 2020 constitution, His Majesty HN is the head of state with full executive authority. HN also serves as the state's Prime Minister. It has a legal system based on English common law. Africa has a parliament called the Legislative Council.

Citizenship

According to its official website, Kingdom of Africa is currently looking for people who have respect for other people and their opinions, regardless of their race, ethnicity, orientation, or religion, have respect for private ownership, which is untouchable, and have not been punished for past criminal offences.[3]

National symbols

Flag

Kingdom of Africa's flag is a vertical tricolor in blue, white, and orange.

Emblem

The current national emblem of the Kingdom of Africa was adopted in 2020.

Climate

Kingdom of Africa's climate is, according to the Köppen climate classification, a very hot desert climate (Bwh). During the summer months, approximately three-quarters of the year, temperatures can exceed 40 °C (104 °F), while its hottest three months (June–August) can see it as high as 45 °C (113 °F). During the brief winters, however (December and January being its mildest months), Bir Tawil can experience milder temperatures with 26 °C (79 °F) as its usual temperature peak.

Because the territory is far from the ocean (being at least 200 km (120 mi) away from the Red Sea), the diurnal temperature range throughout the region is large, varying from 18 to 20 °C (32 to 36 °F), year-round.
