The Aran Islands, officially the Province of the Aran Islands (formerly the Aran Islands Autonomous Province) was one of the provinces of the Republic of Roscamistan and the second-ever autonomous province of the Republic of Roscamistan.

History

The Aran Islands, a set of three islands located in Galway Bay, was first annexed to Roscamistan, with the name of the Aran Islands Autonomous Province, on a trip by Thomas Jacobs to Inis Oírr, the smallest of the islands on 22 July 2021. Jacobs appointed his Chief Advisor, to serve as Governor of the Aran Islands (then Minister for the Aran Islands), and also Home Secretary. Jacobs later made another visit to the Aran Islands, on the island of Inis Mór in August 2021.

In early 2022, the official name of the province was changed from Aran Islands Autonomous Province to the Province of the Aran Islands.

In June 2023, Roscamistan federalised. As a result, the Aran Islands was abandoned completely by the Roscami government.

Government

The Aranite Government was nominally ran by the centrally-appointed Governor, currently Fearghas MacLochlainn since 22 July 2021 and by a Premier as the head of government; the Premier also served as Lieutenant Governor.

The province was mainly Republican Bloc, and Christian Solidarity, the latter who’s headquarters is in Aran.

Language

Unlike most of the provinces of Roscamistan, Irish was the only official language within the province. All gubernatorial announcements were required to be in Irish. The Governor was referred to within the province as Governor or Rialtóir (Irish for governor).
