Ariel Lederman is a micronational politician and statesman. He served on the provisional government of the Republic of Freedonia, The Committee of Public Affairs, and was later voted as the President of the nascent country. He also serves in the Geogienstinian National Congress and briefly served as the Congressional Minority Leader under the Big Tent libertarian political party, The New Democrats. Lederman has earned a reputation for being an advocate of individual rights, free markets, and non-interventionism in foreign policy.
Lederman is not new to the micronational community. He ran a micronation when he was younger known as the Republic of Promesa which he was unable to get off the ground due to inactivity and instability within the nation and his personal life at the time. He took a long sabbatical from the community as a whole for a full five years until returning in 2020 after renewed interest.
Lederman does not see micronationalism as serious means to establish independence movements in the countries that they spring up in. However, he views it as a positive influence in order to increase political awareness in younger people and to learn about the intricacies that often go behind running a government. He is, however, critical of those within the community who have simulationist micronations and declare "war" and have "battles" with others within the community.
