The Arlandican dollar (Cebuano: Dolyar sa Arlandika; symbol: AR$ or A$; code: ARD) is one of the two official currencies of the Kingdom of Arlandica alongside the Philippine peso. The Arlandican dollar is not widely used in people's daily transactions, and serves a primarily collectable role in the country.
History
The Arlandican dollar was implemented as the country's secondary currency from 15 July 2022 following the formation of the Trans-Arlandic National Bank. It later mentioned the 2022 Arlandican constitution after an amendment.
The Arlandican dollar is the successor of the defunct Lebetaryan dollar (or Liberty dollar) which was used in Lémarita from 10 April 2019, prior to its admittance to Arlandica.
Banknotes
On 15 July 2022, the newly formed Trans-Arlandic National Bank introduced notes in denominations of 1, 5, 10, 50, and 100 dollars. All banknotes bear the denomination in English, Cebuano, and Ilocano.
The old banknote design shared a common theme, representing various aspects of each province of the Kingdom of Arlandica. However, in October 2023, a new banknote design was introduced, featuring a single, simplified design with new elements. These banknotes bear a striking resemblance to their United States counterparts.
Exchange rates
While the Arlandican dollar serves as a secondary currency in Arlandica, alongside the Philippine peso, it is important to note that due to its limited usage, there is no well-established or widely recognized official exchange rate for this currency.
Central bank
Located in Rio Santiago City, Province of Lémarita, the Trans-Arlandic National Bank functions as the central bank of the Kingdom of Arlandica. Operating under the control of the Ministry of Home Affairs and ownership of the monarch and the parliament, it oversees currency management, printing/minting processes, and serves as the treasury of the Arlandican government—holding the assets of Arlandica. Benz Gian Arellano currently serves as its administrator. This state-owned company plays an important role in maintaining the stability and authenticity of the Arlandican dollar, serving as a linchpin within the country's financial infrastructure.
Given that the bank is situated in Rio Santiago City, the city functions as Arlandica's financial center and retains 1/3 of the country's funds and assets.
