The Arstotzkan-Confederate War was an international conflict between the Independent Federal Republic of the Arstotzkan Union and the Confederate Democracy of Gamers. War broke out following the first Unity Day celebrations by the Arstotzkan Union. The war saw to the end of the Brinkman - Gedye Administration and brought in the Ormsby - Gedye Administration leading to the end of the war with the help of the State Governor of the State of the USAUP.

On April 15, 2021 Marines of the 1st Regiment of the Arstotzkan Union Marine Corps along with command from Lieutenant General Zion Ormsby and Kommondant Ethan Brinkman, moved into capitulate the CDG capital of Johnston DT and remove it from Arstotzkan Territory.

In 2022, the Arstotzkan Union banned anyone who was involved with the CDG from gaining citizenship, residency or immigration status' under the Civil Protection Act 2021. These restrictions were also hardened with the creation of the Preventative Measures Act 2022.

Background

The war began after heating tensions between the Arstotzkan Union and the CDG after the CDG announced where it held its territory. The nations Capital, Johnston DT, which occupied the Arstotzkan City of Bethlehem. Following this announcement the former 1st President ruled that the nation was in violation of several pieces of Arstotzkan Legislation including Articles of the Constitution of the Arstotzkan Union. The First President then updated the Foreign Policy of standoff for the CDG on November 10.

In the final lines of the Foreign Policy of November 10, President Ethan says "A fragile state of peace shall reign between the two nations."

The Arstotzkan Federal Government and Arstotzkan High Command were never contacted by First President, Ethan Brinkman over the matter and later stated following the inauguration of Vice President Zion Orsmby, that "Disciplinary will be taken into account, and shall follow all proper procedures incompliance with Arstotzkan Law and the Articles of the Constitution of the Arstotzkan Union."

War

This article was written by members of the Arstotzkan Union and not much information is known about the Activities of members of the CDG during this time.

2020

On November 26, 2020, the First President authorised and approved Operation: Foreign Destruction. This would deploy members of the Arstotzkan Marine Corps to take the CDG capital and force it into surrender. This became a formal declaration of war with the CDG, after President Ethan announced it on AUNNN later that day. After a few days many in the Arstotzkan Federal Government, including the First President all felt that the war may not be a victory for the Arstotzkan Union and on November 28, the AUNNN announced Arstotzkan High Command was to be holding an emergency meeting to discuss ending the war. However this detail was overlooked and the meeting had no resolve on the end of the war. On November 30, the War Division of Arstotzkan High Command met with the First President in an effort to once again end the war, however the war once again continued.

By December 4 it was clear the war would not be ending anytime soon and so the Arstotzkan Federal Government passed Emergency Resolution 212. This was done in an effort to classify all important government documents for matters of National Security. Documents like the Constitution and pieces of Legislation were all classified only to the Presidents and no one else would be able to access them. This would remain in place until February 12, 2021.

On December 6, 2020, the National Assembly of the Arstotzkan Union dissolved for the 2020/2021 Holidays. This meant that the Office of the Presidency was left in major control of the Arstotzkan Union. Eleven days later the AUNNN announced that the Arstotzkan Marine Corps would be adopting a "No Surrender Doctrine", which meant that no Marine was allowed to surrender to the CDG.

2021

On the afternoon of January 5, 2021, Ethan Brinkman announced his resignation to the people of the Arstotzkan Union and also announced that he would resign from being the Kommondant of the Arstotzkan Union Defense Forces. Both of these would be temporary and by February 28, Ethan would regain his standing in the AUDF. Ethan used this speech to advocate to the Arstotzkan Union and their allies that democracy is a strong principle of the Republic.

On the evening of January 11, 2021, the AUNNN announced that the Acting First President had achieved peace talks between the CDG and Arstotzkan Union. On January 13 the Acting First President ordered a temporary cease-fire and this became known as the January Ceasefire. From this Arstotzkan High Command began to work towards ending the war again.

By February the war was quickly coming to a close. On February 4, former Vice President Zion Orsmby became the First President of the Arstotzkan Union, beginning the Orsmby - Gedye Administration. Five days later, on the 9th the First President and State Governor (Prime Minister at the time) authorized the First Declaration of Peace, which would end the war with the CDG on February 10. This ultimately ended the second longest war ever fought by the Arstotzkan Union.

Fall of the CDG

On the afternoon of April 15, 2021, Marines of the Arstotzkan Marine Corps 1st Division, led by the Kommondant of the AUDF, Lt. Gen. Zion Ormsby and Supreme Commanding General of the Arstotzkan Marine Corps, Mjr. Gen. Ethan Brinkman (now Kommondant of the AUDF) marched into the CDG capital of Johnston DT and reclaimed it as a part of the Arstotzkan Union. The city fell to the Arstotzkan forces in a matter of seconds and the First President claimed it as a major victory. In a statement to the Arstotzkan Union National News Network, First President Zion Ormsby said

"Yesterday me and my comrades took back what was rightfully ours to begin with, for 6 long months the CDG has reigned terror over Arstotzkan land and has done nothing to better Arstotzka and her future so I saw it fit to take back what's ours, with the Lord as my witness I take this land back in the name of Arstotzka and her people Amen." - Former First President Zion Ormsby in a comment to the AUNNN regarding the fall of the CDG. April 16th 2021

On April 16 the CDG was allowed to gain the status of city-state under the protection of the Arstotzkan Union and the State Government of Arstotzka (now State Government of the USAUP). Elijah Tibbits was announced to remain in power however would not be allowed to cause any uprising that could lead to hostile intent against the Federal Government. As of today, the CDG is a city under the command of the Arstotzkan Site Protection Authority and has limited power with much of its original power dying out under the new rule.

Following the introduction of the June Foreign Policy, when Ethan Brinkman returned as the First President of the Arstotzkan Union, it established the Policy which removed all authoritive powers of the CDG, and also denied the CDG from ever restoring their power in the Arstotzkan Union. The June 2021 Foreign Policy overruled the November 2020 Foreign Policy and allowed the Arstotzkan Federal Government to implement these policies.

Later amendments to the Civil Protection Act 2021 enforced these actions even further with them targeting people who were involved in the war. The Preventative Measures Act 2022, built on this by removing all rights of anyone even slightly involved with the former CDG. These Amendments have since been removed following a suit brought forward by the CDG after it came back in June 2022. This suit being known as Confederacy v. Arstotzkan Union, which was the first in the Supreme Federal Court.

Legacy

The Arstotzkan - Confederate War is remembered as the longest wars in Arstotzkan History. It is eight days longer than the second longest, of which was the First Civil Conflict. Unlike the First and Second Civil Conflicts, the Arstotzkan - Confederate War has not been remembered with dates of when the war began nor finished.
