General Sir Arturo “Arty” Lara, Duke of Anglenburg, Duke of Brunsnia, Count of Granville MAO OJP OMS PC MP (born 8 May 1998) is an American micronationalist figure, politician, diplomat and former military officer. Lara currently serves as a government official in Austenasia and Vishwamitra.

Early and personal life

Born on 8 May 1998, he is a resident of the state of North Carolina. He is a prolific collector coins, autographs, military memorabilia, and more. He also spends much of his time conducting genealogical research. Lara is an ordained minister with the Universal Life Church and is also a life member of The Fuller Society and is a member of the Royal Society of Saint George, the Lions Club, Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, and a Freemason.

Micronational career

Austenasia

Lara was appointed as the Austenasian Consul-General in the U.S. state of North Carolina on 27 November 2016 and served in that capacity until early 2018. He was re-appointed to the same position on 17 February 2020 by Emperor Jonathan I. He was knighted as a Member of the Austenasian Order for his beneficial services to the nation on 14 May 2020.

Aariania

Arturo Lara associated himself with the Aarianian Union of North America as a citizen in 2017 and later became active in the politics of the nation following his appointment as the Territorial Governor of Vescambia on 18 February 2018. He, further, lent a helping hand in the creation of the territory's flag and the naming of Mandela Pond in Tagginsol. On 24 March 2018, it was informed that Vescambia was officially admitted as a province and he took over as its Baron.

Lara affiliated himself with the Independent Party of Aariania. Being an Independent, Lara quickly joined Grand Marquette Aaron Green in a lawsuit against the Grand Council in which they attempted to dissolve the party. He was instrumental in getting the council to drop the attempt after his review of the Constitution and discovering a passage which showed the council’s attempt as unconstitutional. This was a big win for his party and he has since switched his affiliation to the Egalitarian Party of Aariania (EPA). Lara served on the Council of Seven since April 2018 and on 23 September 2018, he declared his candidacy for the office of the President of Aariania. He successfully received the endorsement of Grand Marquette Aaron Green. However, he was polled third in the election receiving 21.4% of the votes with the election being won by Hajara Sadiq with 42.9% of the votes.

On 25 August 2019, President Green announced his plan to bring to the Council of Seven a resolution to dissolve the Aarianian Union and the vote was to be held the next day. Finally, on 25 September 2019, the Aarianian Union of North America was officially dissolved.

Roanoke

Lara founded the Kingdom of Roanoke on 1 April 2020 and assumed the kingship with the regnal name of "Arthur I". On 31 January 2021, he signed an Instrument of Abdication at 5:00 PM EST and abdicated the throne in favour of his friend and Prime Minister Christoph Billung and made his final speech to the nation later in the evening.

The following day, on 1 February, the Kingdom was renamed to Brunsnia and Lara was named as the Prime Minister by King Christoph. A referundum was sent to citizens regarding the establishment of a United Kingdom of Begon and Brunsnia, however, this was not popular. On 4 March 2021, Brunsnia was dissolved and the territory was annexed by the Kingdom of Begon.

Begon

Sir Arturo became a full citizen of Begon following the annexation of Brunsnia. He represents Greater reater Brunsnia, the Brunsnic Mainland, and the Art Islands in the House of Royals and was appointed as a Privy Councillor on 6 May 2021.

Vishwamitra

Lara first became acquainted with the State of Vishwamitra in 2020 while he was reigning as the King of Roanoke and the two nations established formed bilateral relations. Following his abdication from the throne of Roanoke, he became a citizen of the nation and was soon appointed as the first Chief of the Defence Staff and also became the first ordinary citizen to be appointed to the rank of a General in the Royal Vishwamitran Army. Few days later, he was appointed as a member of the Privy Council.

He was ennobled as the first "Count of Granville" on his 23rd birthday on 8 May 2021 by Rashtradhyaksh Dhrubajyoti Roy and was also appointed as Honorary Aide-de-Camp to the Rashtradhyaksh on 29 May 2021. However, General Lara chose to tender his resignation from the position of the Chief of the Defence Staff on 17 June.

After staying away from active service for months, he was approached by the leadership of the National People's Congress and was named as the party's candidate from Chandril parliamentary constituency for the upcoming general election to the Parliament. He successfully won from the constituency defeating David Brooke and was inducted into the council of ministers on 22 November 2021. He was appointed as the Minister of State (Independent charge) for Health, Hygiene, and Swachhta Mission with the additional charge of the Minister of State for Defence.

Genealogy

Arturo is of mixed ancestry. His father is a native of Mexico and his mother is from the United States. His mother’s ancestry consists of English, Irish, Greek, and Austrian. Not much is known about his father’s family, as his parents divorced soon after he was born.

His more notable ancestors include Edward Fuller, a passenger of the Mayflower (15th Great-Grandfather); Edward Wightman, a religious martyr (14th Great-Grandfather); William Herbert, the 1st Earl Pembroke (16th Great-Grandfather); and King Edward I of England (25th Great-Grandfather).

Through research, it has been discovered, through his maternal side, is of distant relation to Emperor Jonathan I of Austenasia and Emperor Adam I of Adammia. He is also very distantly related to Tsesar Dionisiy I.
