The Ashaonian Republic, commonly known as Ashaonia, is a self-declared sovereign state that can be referred to as a micronation. The nation was established on 26 October 2022 as a parliamentary republic.
History
Ashaonia was established on 26 October 2022 as a parliamentary republic. Founding Father, Luke Mills, took office as president. The national flag was adopted on 27 October 2022.
Politics and Government
President
As the nation is a parliamentary republic the role of president is largely ceremonial. The president is granted some legislative ability, such as the absolute right to veto laws without parliamentary override, but majority of the legislative ability is vested in parliament and the prime minister.
Prime Minister
The prime minister serves as head of government and oversees much of the nation's legislation. They nominate cabinet ministers to the president and also help advise the president on how to exercise much of their abilities.
Parliament
As Ashaonia is a parliamentary republic, the parliament plays a large role in national legislation. The Assembly of the Republic serves as the unicameral parliament of the nation. All ministers, including the Prime Minister, are members of the assembly of the republic.
Legislation is typically proposed to the assembly by a member of the cabinet or shadow cabinet and is typically passed by parliament before going to the president for assent.
Law and Order
The primary judiciary of the nation is the supreme court. The supreme court deals with all judicial cases in the republic. As well as this, the supreme court can occasionally impeach the president if approved by parliament.
The supreme court helps maintains law and order within the republic by presiding over all national court cases.
