The Atieran National Front or ANF was the ruling political party of Atiera. It was founded upon the ascension of Chris Ramsay as the nation's prime minister on 18 October 2020. The following administration (18 October 2020 – 11 January 2021), though experiencing a streak of achievements, soon saw little popularity in the monarchy and constant infighting led to the abdication of the prime minister, also as chairman of the party. Both positions were ceded to Michael, Prince of Galte, upon the nation adopting a Westminster system in its new constitution. The coming general election saw again the confirmation of the Westminster system upon which the chairmanship was ceded to Isaiah David; showing a clear trend of the ANF Chairmen being in all cases also the prime ministers of Atiera. This trend would last throughout the remaining existence of the Kingdom of Atiera which was disestablished on the 25th of August, two days after the unilateral resignation of the Gladden government.

History

The National Front had a rocky beginning but was founded firmly on keeping the House of Munroe in power, as well as ensuring political stability on the political stage of the aspiring nation. The authoritarianism of the sitting prime minister had soon lesser and lesser support by the King whose relationship with the government had slowly started to crumble. Saturday, January 2, the King proclaimed the dissolution of the Miller administration on accusations of open transphobia and anti-democratic values on the grounds of which every minister was fired, though without immediate effect. This was heavily protested by the government who had later acquired the King's apology. The decree was repealed the same day, though this display of distrust became a deciding factor to the abdication of the prime minister nine days later. The party submitted a charter on 3 February 2021, following the passage of the Party Formalization Act on 25 January 2021. This made the National Front the first official party following the act, as no other party had yet submitted a charter.

The squares become ancient pillars of roman and greek architecture, endurant, stable, and on many government buildings today a feature. Three of them symbolise the three branches of government in accordance with Montesquieu's separation of powers, or become a defensive formation of roman shields which symbolizes strength and co-operation.

Controversy

In addition to the premature dissolution of the Miller administration, in February 2021, Miller and the party's parliamentarians had decided to stage a satirical fascist parliamentary coup. Though the National Front was formally abandoned, it was effectively rebranded to become the Atieran Faceist party, an intentional misspelling of "fascist" to convey ingenuity. This had come to happen when the Prime Minister had issued an order banning certain ideologies or ideological principles from forming parties, including fascism, race or gender supremacy, etc. However seen as undemocratic by the King who shortly repealed the order. The members carried through the absurd plan designed to set an example, but was immediately met with fierce setbacks and the three main culprits were disgraced with immediate effect. Time has allowed all three to be reinstituted into the citizenry.

Miller administration

The start of the National Front also became the start of the Miller administration. One of the first actions of which was to cut off colonial claims and possessions that did not contribute to Atiera and soon the Grand Duchy of New Louis was going a separate path. Atiera's expansionist history would not be over with, however, as the Kingdom of Galte soon came into talks with the government regarding an absorption into the Atieran state. On 28 November, roughly a week of negotiations became reality as the kingdom began to absorb into Atieran administration. The Prime Minister set a focus on foreign affairs, and would halt the effort to join the Grand Unified Micronational, as well he would make an effort to bring together the nations of southern Ontario into what he named the Toronto Pact. He served himself as the Minister of Foreign Affairs during his term. The Prime Minister issued two executive orders during his term; one to establish the ministries, and one to ban harmful ideologies, the latter of which would result in the February controversies as mentioned above. The stability of the Miller administration would begin to deteriorate at the beginning of 2021 and would eventually collapse on 11 January.

Shepard administration

The former King of Galte, now Prince of Galte entered the Atieran political stage in November 2020, and would join the party not long after. Prince Michael became immediately and visibly dedicated to Atiera and would very soon become the nation's first Deputy Prime Minister. His position as the Prince of Galte would, for a short while, make him the de facto heir presumptive, and he would in this capacity serve as the nation's Prince-Regent in a co-operative regency along with the Prime Minister from 14 to 26 December 2020. At the first Atieran general election in early 2021, he would become Member of Parliament for Brayton Plains North and he would serve the first properly elected parliament as the nations first Speaker of the House. His efforts were mainly focused towards reforming the parliament and he would be responsible for publishing Shepard's Rules of Order, still the very structure of the parliament and its management. His continuous dedication to Atiera would earn him prestige both inside and outside of the party, and he makes up among other persons the backbone of its rule. His short administration alone as the sole head of the government from 11 to 14 January 2021 would be one largely transitional, and few if any changes to the government were made. After the general election the Prime Ministership was passed down to Prime Minister Isaiah Burdette whom he served under as his deputy.

Burdette administration

Prince Burdette would, more or less, spontaneously ascend to the office of the Prime Minister and simultaneously the chairmanship of the National Front by appointment as successor to his predecessor, though in accordance with democratic measures he was affirmed by the parliament on the 14th of January. He would oversee the drafting and ratification of the charter of the ANF. On the 25th of June in the ANF chairmanship elections he was elected to remain in office for a second term starting after the nations upcoming general elections in August of the same year. However, a little more than two weeks after, Burdette resigned abruptly on 11 July after having been grossly criticized in an appendix presented as a motion of no confidence having been presented and supported by his previous electoral rivals Mr. Tucker Gladden and former chairman Chris Ramsay with the vocal support of the King and the Prince of Galte.

Second Miller and Gladden administrations, dissolution of the National Front

After the resignation of Burdette, Chris Ramsay succeeded him as chairman and Prime Minister. However, after 47 minutes, Miller resigned and handed over the reins of party leadership and government to Gladden.
