Austenasian Nobles
The system of Nobles in the Empire of Austenasia is a collection of mostly hereditary titles granted by the Monarch or Parliament which consists of Imperial Titles, Nobility and Peerages.
Before the implementation of the Austenasian Constitution of 2011 on 20 September 2011, Nobility held functions in local government and the military. From then until December 2015, all Nobles held purely honorary titles. However, since the passing of the Judiciary Act 2015 on 2 December, Nobles have been eligible (along with Representatives) to serve as judges in the high court of their respective duchy; this remains the only actual function of the titles.
Imperial Titles
The Monarch may make his/her husband, any of his/her sons, brothers, male cousins, uncles, sons-in-laws, nephews or male ascendants, or any male with the consent of the Prime Minister and all Archdukes of the Empire, a Caesar of Austenasia. Caesars may keep this status until their death (unless the Monarch revokes it or the Caesar relinquishes it), but it is not hereditary. Caesars will have the secondary title of Forename Nobilissimus Caesar, and (if they do not have so already) have the style of Imperial Highness.
— Article XI, Sections A and B of the Austenasian Constitution of 2011
The Monarch may make his/her wife, any of his/her sisters, nieces, or female ascendants, or any female with the consent of the Prime Minister and all Archdukes of the Empire, an Augusta of Austenasia. Augustae may keep this status until their death (unless the Monarch revokes it or the Augusta relinquishes it), but it is not hereditary. Augustae will have the secondary title of Forename Augusta, and (if they do not have so already) have the style of Imperial Highness.
— Article XI, Sections C and D of the Austenasian Constitution of 2011
Imperial Titles (in the context of Nobles) are comprised of two individual titles, Caesar and Augusta, bestowable by the Monarch since the passing of Act 124 (Imperial Powers) on 1 July 2010. The title of Caesar is the second highest in precedence that the Monarch can bestow, sometimes being referred to as "honorary deputy Emperor" during the Era of Mighty Imperium. The title of Augusta was declared on 20 September 2013 by Imperial Edict to come before that of Caesar in precedence, and so is the highest-ranking honour that the Monarch can bestow.

Nobility
Every Town shall have a Baron/Baroness; every Province shall have a Count/Countess; every Duchy shall have a Duke/Duchess; and every Region shall have an Archduke/Archduchess. These positions are collectively known as Nobility (singular: Landed Noble).
— Article XI, Section E of the Austenasian Constitution of 2011
Each administrative division of the Empire has a Landed Noble, the plural of which is Nobility. This was originally established by Act 54 (Nobility) on 31 January 2009.
In accordance with Article XI, Section J of the Constitution, a "title of Nobility can only be granted and taken away by Parliament". The majority of incumbent Landed Nobles were appointed to that position by the Act which created the administrative division in question. The Nobles Act 2020, passed on 25 June that same year, confirmed that titles of nobility are hereditary and so can therefore be inherited by a Landed Noble's child upon their death or resignation (this had already been de facto practice since 2009), and also gave standing authorisation to the Monarch to grant on Parliament's behalf a vacant title of nobility by Imperial Decree or Imperial Edict.
Archdukes and Archduchesses
The Region of Pannonia was created for Jovanovo and would ordinarily have been dissolved upon its loss of Town status. However, by special provision, the title Archduchess of Pannonia was kept in place in order to provide for prospective future expansions in the same area of the world. The same state of affairs applied to the Region of Asia Minor between the cession of Ionisia in August 2018 and the annexation of Laranda in May 2019.
