Azerianus Severanus is an Israeli-Bonumlandian politician who serves as the Vice President of Freedonia, previously serving as the 3rd President of Bonumland for seven days in 2020, before being overthrown in a coup by Addison Dillon. In addition, he served as the minority leader of the Georgienstinian National Congress for two weeks in 2021.
Career
Bonumland
Severanus joined the Republic of Bonumland on November 21, 2020, and was admitted to the Board of Elections. that same day, Severanus announced a run for the Presidency of Bonumland, and picked Jacob Rees-Mogg (not his real name) as his running mate the following day. in the First Round, Severanus tied incumbent President Addison Dillon's 5 Votes, making it to the second round in the Second Round, Severanus beat Dillon by two votes, becoming the 3rd President of Bonumland
Presidency
from November 27, 2020, to December 4, serving for one week. During his tenure, Severanus passed a COVID Guidelines act detailing the preferred actions all citizens of bonumland should take to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. in December, after mass defections from the Conservative Party. Severanus opposed the motion of no confidence in the Premiership of Prime Minister Matthew McMullin, who was removed that same day. on December 2, Dillon and other members of her party proposed the Package Act. Replacing Bonumland's constitution and abolishing the office of President. Severanus opposed the bill but offered amendments that would lead to acceptance. in the meanwhile he issued a veto of the bill which was overridden on December 4, ending his presidency.
Severanus's Amendments were considered during the ongoing transitionary period.
On December 13, 2020, Severanus was appointed President of the Privy Council of Bonumland.
Georgienstine
Severanus joined the New Democratic Party and was placed fourth on their roster of candidates for the December 2020 Georgienstinian Congressional Election, ultimately falling short as the NDP won 3 seats, Severanus Conceded that Day. Shortly thereafter, Severanus declared his run for the Governorship of Nassau, but lost to incumbent Isaiah Burnette by one vote. Severanus subsequently entered the Georgienstinian congress, and became minority leader, upon the resignation of Ariel Lederman. He ceased to be Minority Leader on 24 January 2021, after he left the New Democratic party for the Liberal Party, and was replaced by Benjamin Olson. He later lost his seat in the April 2021 Georgienstinian congressional election. Severanus is the Liberal Party Nominee for the 2021 Georgienstinian presidential election
Freedonia
Severanus was a founding member of the Republic of Freedonia, and became its first Vice President via appointment.
Ideology
Severanus's views generally align with those of a moderate, with relative fiscal conservatism and social progressivism being the tenants of his ideological beliefs.
