The Wehrmacht was the national armed forces of the Commonwealth of Ballinfoyleburg as well as its predecessor the Republic from the 20th of December 2021 to the 15th of February 2023 . It was comprised of four branches, the Heer, the Kriegsmarine, the Luftwaffe and the Order Police, and was led by its Co-Commanders in Chief, Ludwig Collins from 18 December 2021 and Thomas Jacobs since 27 March 2022, and has been an ex officio role of the President since 13 January 2022. When Ludwig Collins became president after Ballinfoyles transition to Commonwealth, he became the Wehrmacht only Commander in Chief. The Wehrmacht was dissolved on the 15th of February 2023 and replaced with the People's Defence Forces.

Command and Administration

The Defence Forces is overlooked by the Ministry of Defence and War and is nominally directed by the President as Commander-in-Chief. The day to day running of the armed forces is managed by the Defence Staff, led by the Chief of the Defence Staff. The Wehrmacht could be command solely by the Commander in Chief in times of emergency.

Command

The Defence Forces was led by the President, who is the Commander in Chief of the Wehrmacht. The professional head of the Wehrmacht is the Chief of the Defence Staff, who is head of the Defence Staff, the body appointed by the President that serves as the high command. There were also three chiefs of staff, one for each of the three branches of the Wehrmacht.

Administration

The civil administration of the Defence Forces is done by the Ministry of Defence and War, headed by the Minister of Defence and War, Jan Kotoński at dissolution
