The Cascadian Communist Party (commonly known as The Party, Irish: Páirtí Cumannach Cascadian, and the CCP) is a political party and the ruling Vanguard in the Greater Cascadian Republic. It’s main policies include market socialism and its own form of "environmental communist economics", also called "Ecommuney", Cascadian nationalism, Marxism-Leninism-Smithism, and Bioregionalism. The party is considered far-left to left wing.

Ideology and Platform

Cascadian and Celtic nationalism and Bioregional irrendentism

Despite adhering to a Classical Marxist belief that nationalism is a bourgeois phenomenon, the Party does hold a concept of nationalism through national liberation and class struggle against the ruling class in its fight to maintain the micronation's independence and gain bioregional independence through aiding national liberation and other movements with the same goal. This is conducive to their left-wing irrendentist approach in which all of the Bioregion from the Shasta and Coastal Mountains of Northern California to the Yukon borders in Canada are to be liberated and united as one common people and ecological system. To add to its Celtic protectionism and revivalism, the Party, and the government policy of the GCR, has largely been to the belief that the Cascadian population is majority descended from Celtic lineage (either Gaelic or Brythonic) of the Scots, Irish, Northumbrians, Welsh, Manx, Brittany, or Cornwall. The Party sees these as occupied and oppressed people of still-existant Anglo-German rule of the lands and calls for the liberation of these nations, a unified Ireland under a federalized or otherwise republican form of government, a Scottish republic, a recognized and nationalized Cornwall, and a worldwide Celtic United Nations forum. Despite its pan-Celtic-nationalist stance, it has been accused of being Hibernophilic; focusing too much on Irish liberation struggle while ignoring a greater potential for the other Celtic worldly nations, though the Party maintains their interests are meant for the benefit of all Celtic populations.

Marxism-Leninism, Smithism, and People's Revolutionary Democracy

Democracy is something guaranteed in the Party Constitution and the Constitution of the Greater Cascadian Republic, despite the GCR being a one-party state. The official stance of the Party is that Democracy should be one based upon the traditional values of Celtic ingenuity and innovation and as such, advocates that it must attempt to achieve a very limited goal in government, a belief conducive with their goals of achieving communism. These views tend to overlap as Celtic democracy and Cascadian communist democracy are often interchangeable. The fundamental difference being that through Cascadian communism, the Party believes in a form of "people's revolutionary democracy", a Cascadian contribution to the Maoist theory of people's democratic dictatorship. This, in theory, is what leads analysts to speculate how the Smithist Cult of Personality exists around the Party and its leader who is regarded by Cascadians as the "Motherly Guide of the Revolution" and "Dear Leader" just as Mao, Kim il-Sung, and Stalin were. The comparisons by the Party's critics to the similarities between Titania Smith and Joseph Stalin leave many believe this is the point of the Party; to build a national struggle through the same means that Stalin did under the Soviet Union, often referring to Smith as the "Woman of Steel" ( a reference to Stalin's "Man of Steel"), with Smith critics referring to her as both this and the "Titanium Tyrant" as slurs against her regime. In fairness, Smith's ideology is comparable and often influenced by Kimism, Maoism, and Stalinism, to a larger extent, respectively. As such, Cascadia is regarded by its critics as being less of a democracy, or even a Marxist-Leninist state, and more of a Stalinist-style dictatorship under Smith. The Party argues, however, that it holds a commitment to classical Marxist-Leninist beliefs with influences from contemporary revolutionaries and the thoughts of Smithism and Dustinism, an ideology bred from the former VISSR (now Dominion of Vancouver Island) and its leader Dustin Carlson (ie Dustinov). Dustinism-Smithism is regarded as a modern interpretation of the classical Marxist theory with regard to the modern world of today and its conduciveness to the Cascadian bioregion and people, from which both Smith and Dustinov reside. As such, Dustinism-Smithism is regarded as the core tenant to the Cascadian Communist theory and is sometimes referred to by Party hierarchy as Marxism-Leninism-Dustinism-Smithism.

"Ecommuney" and Protracted People's Eco-war

Both Cascadian Socialism and Cascadian Communism are based on the ideals of Green politics, environmental protection, and socialist theory in order to achieve a communist state. Cascadian communism has developed an economic, quasi-moneyless system of "environmentally friendly market economics under Communism" or "Ecommuney" with the ideal of creating jobs that both are environmentally conscious or have been converted to a green market, and are 100% powered by alternative-green energy. The idea is to create a self-sustaining Cascadia, unreliant on foreign aid or outside forces and no need for electric, coal, natural gas, or oil power. This innovation is part of a struggle deemed by the Party as "protracted people's eco-war", another extension of Mao's protracted people's war theory but along with a long and arduous conflict against the bourgeoisie and capitalist saboteurs, it must also contend with their lack of concern and ability to destroy the planet's environment for the sake of profit and imperialism. This perpetuates a narrative that until capitalism is completely defeated, the environment and the Revolution will constantly be under threat.

Autonomism, Comradism, and Transfeminism

Through the development of Cascadian socialism was the sprouts of sexual, gender, romantic, and cultural and national autonomism, an enlarged sense of Workerism, with the intent to create a greater sense of mutual respect and Comradery. This is known as Comradism. Under Smithist ideology, Cascadian Communism seeks to bold the ideals built under Cascadian socialism of First Nations' autonomy and the right to their own self-determination, including the process of dual citizenship and the right to be part of the legislative process of Cascadia. In addition, the cultural identities of people of color, species, Sentience, and the sexual, gender, and romantic orientations are also given autonomy over their individual groups daily functions but also act as a lobby for change to their local and central governments in an effort to promote uniqueness of backgrounds while maintaining a national unity of mutually assured respect. This was largely spawned from the classical anti-racist, anti-fascist, and feminist roots of Marxism. As a transgender woman who is pansexual and Aromantic, Smith has pushed the norms and the lines of Marxist theory to include respect for the rights of the LGBT community, especially when it comes to awareness and education on sex, gender identity, and romantic orientation and has, with her friends, Party Deputy and Cascadian Tanaiste, Josh Graceson, a trans man and Kaela Raine, a polyamorous enby, began hardlining efforts to begin a education campaign on gender and romanticism. Smith, herself, stood behind transfeminism as a new era of feminism, stating "...as the so-called feminist movement has drifted so far from the true meaning of feminism itself, its socialist and revolutionary roots of Comrade Marx, transfeminism should be considered the true meaning and successor to the struggle of gender." Because of this, transfeminism has become a key component in Smithist gender struggle theory. Smithism argues that modern feminists have either or both used their positions of empowerment to degrade, threaten, harass, and discriminate against men and trans people to the point of cancelling them from the debate and movement. In this instance, Smith argues that "this is misandry and transphobia which defeats the purpose of the core of feminism, equality for all and empowerment of all woman."

Anti-imperialism and Anti-colonialism

The Cascadian Communist Party, like most traditional Marxist-Leninist parties is strongly opposed to imperialism, particularly US and British (more specifically, Anglican, or English) imperialism and holds a regional interventionist foreign policy, seeking only to use military force to "defend the Bioregion from forces foreign and domestic." The party maintains a traditional state secularist viewpoint while also promoting a form of pan-Celtic revivalism of culture, language,, religion, and tradition. As such, freedom of religion is guaranteed under the Party Constitution and the Constitution of the Greater Cascadian Republic. The party is also known to criticize Christian religion, largely on the basis of "historical persecution" of Pagans, Catholics, and other religions, Anglo-Germanic assimilation of Celtic populations, and imperial exertion over the world's non-European populations. Thus, the Party holds a strong anti-Nordic, anti-Germanic, and anti-English sentiment viewing them as imperialists, colonizers and oppressors of the world.

Anti-racism, Anti-fascism, Anti-Americanism, and Anti-Trumpism

The Party holds a hardline, traditionally Marxist stand against racism, fascism, and white nationalism to the point of absolute militancy towards anything viewed as reactionary or counter-revolutionary. This view became a major focal point in the Great Patriotic War during the final months of the US' Trump Administration. While viewing the Black Lives Matter and western Antifa protests as neo-liberal and non-violent, which could irritate Party leadership for "lack of action", the People's Green Army backed the protesters against Portland, Sacramento, and Seattle Police during the later half of 2020. The protests were sparked after police violence against African-Americans stirred up rivalry and competing ideological lines between the Cascadian socialist government and the US under Donald Trump. The Party and its predecessor have regarded Trumpism as "fascist, Falangist, ultra-nationalist, and racist" and accusing it of "backing, supporting, defending and complicit in white nationalism". Despite the conflict being over with the onset of a new administration, the Party still holds a very stern Anti-American stance, regarding them in the same way that the Democratic People's Republic of Korea views them: with suspicion, defensive aggression, militarism, and imperialists. The Party also continues to wage a proxy war against white supremacist and white nationalist groups such as Proud Boys, Patriot Prayer, Stormfront, and the Ku Klux Klan through on-the-ground protesters, as well as pro-Trump groups, and has banned social nationalism and Trumpist groups from operating in Cascadia under its anti-fascism laws passed in August–September 2020. The party is anti-conservative, anti-liberal and militantly anti-capitalist.

Politburo

The Cascadian Communist Party maintains a Political Bureau that is answerable to the Central Committee. The Politburo is the highest organ of the Party when the Central Committee is not in session and, by the Party Constitution, is required to meet at least twice a month. When the Politburo is not in session, a Presidium (or Standing Committee) may convene for urgent sessions.
