The Caspusian Republic, commonly called Caspusia, is a self-declared micronation founded on 10 July 2022 that is located in Europe. It is classified as a micronation by most external observers.
The republic is a Parliamentary Republic currently under a dictatorship.
History
The republic was established on 10 July 2022. Its foundation was inspired by other micronations as well as other things such as the game "Papers Please".
Politics and Government
The nation is a parliamentary republic under a totalitarian dictatorship. The primary legislature is the Parliament, being made up of the Senate and Chamber of Deputies, which the Presidency relies on to help with the management of the nation. The parliament is chaired by the Prime Minister, who is appointed by the President.
The President also appoints members of the Cabinet of Ministers. Typically ministers are nominated by the Prime Minister but the President has right to appoint any candidate.
Laws can be passed directly by the president but either house of parliament may create bills but no bill may become law unless it receives ascent from the President.
Law and Order
The judicial system in Caspusia plays an important role in helping enforce laws set by the Presidency or Parliament. The Supreme Court is the primary and highest court in the nation and hears most, if not all, cases within the republic. All justices on the Supreme Court are appointed by the President in their capacity as head of state.
Culture and Media
Culture in Caspusia is somewhat similar to western culture. National languages include English and Caspusian, a developing conlang. As the nation is under a totalitarian dictatorship all media is state controlled.
