The Governorate of Centropolis is a Governorate of the Kingdom of Fontasia. Its capital is the city of Centropolis. It is the economic capital of the Kingdom of Fontasia. The Governorate's current population is 9.
Centropolis is renowned for its central location in Assemblia, as well as many activities and businesses in the Governorate.
Brief History
The lands now currently within Centropolis were undeveloped swampland up until around AD 2006, when a shopping development was developed in the area, meant to act as an outdoor shopping mall.
Centropolis was never claimed by Assemblians until after the Fontasian conquest of Assemblia in Summer 2015. At that time there was no settlement demarcated on Assemblian maps, and was regularly assumed to be collectively known as part of the city of Amsters, another nearby settlement. It wasn't until around 2018 when maps began showing the names "Centrum" or "Brigham" in the relative vicinity of modern Centropolis, the name "Brigham" being named after one of the roads in the area.
It wasn't until 2020 when Centropolis was consistently mapped on official maps, becoming a major city in Fontasia. In 2021, the opening of the Centropolis Trading Post, a local supermarket in the area boosted the city's relevance in Assemblia, as it cemented it as the economic capital of the Assemblic nation, rivaling Fontum in relevance. The city became known as a tourist hotspot and a major area for the cultural scene of Assemblia. Several "gangs" began to populate the city as well, creating a still debated lucrative drug trade in the city, prompting the Assemblic Defense Forces and later the Fontasian Defense Forces to fight an undeclared guerilla war in the city.
Under Fontasian rule, Centropolis remains an extremely strategic and important area in the Kingdom of Fontasia. During the Orkar Crisis of 2022, Fontasian troops momentarily occupied the city during the invasion of Buddian Centropolis.
On 12 February 2023, the Protectorate of Paneron, formerly apart of the Centropolis was reacquired by the Governorate, with several small municipalities being dissolved.
Government
Until the beginning of localized rule in the Kingdom of Fontasia in late 2022, the Governorate of Centropolis, as with all Governorates were directly controlled by the Fontasian Royal Government. In most Praetorial elections, the Governorate has consistently voted for the Ergatist Party of Fontasia, in both the Spring and Fall 2022 Praetorial Elections.
As of 2023, there are four municipalities in the Governorate of Centropolis.

Geography
Centropolis is bordered to the west by the Governorate of Isovo, and all other directions by the United States. Centropolis is notable for its low, flat terrain. Being surrounded by swampland, it acts almost as an island. Criss-crossed by roads, a railroad and buildings, the area is extremely developed. The extensive Cedar Swamp surrounds the central parts of the Governorate. The temperature and climate remains consistent of that of all other Assemblian cities, with hot summers and frigid winters.
Culture
Centropolis is by far the most popular tourist governorate north of Lewisport. Its strategic location, being where most major roads in Assemblia meet means it has easy access to almost any Fontasian mainland governorate. Being only a 15 minute bike ride east of Fontum, and an even shorter 5 minute bike ride east of Isovo, numbers of Fontasian adolescents and intelligentsia flock to the city. The city of Centropolis is a key hub for Fontasian youth. The Governorate is among the most liberal of any Fontasian governorates. It has a blend of Fontasian and American cultures.
