The Royal Chancellor of Ruthenia, often simply referred to as the Chancellor, was the highest political office in the Ruthenia, just under the King himself. The Chancellor was appointed by the King. Once in office, the Chancellor had powers similar to the King. He presided the Council of State and was responsible for the General Assembly. The Council of State was the upper house of the Legislative Power in Ruthenia and was a consultive branch of government for the King.
