His Grace Lord Sir Charles Richard Michael, 2nd Duke of Metchlia PM COA BA is an Adammic politician and noble who is the former sixth and current ninth Prime Minister of Adammia and Minister of Finance, serving as leader of the Liberal-Moderate Party. He has also previously been Leader of the Opposition and Minister of Defence.
Non-micronational life
Michael is a graduate medieval history student of the University of Birmingham.
Micronational career
Michael met Adam I, Emperor of Adammia through the University of Birmingham Liberal Democrats. In February 2019, he was knighted and was invited to become a citizen.
In July 2019, Michael joined the Liberal-Moderate Party, and in August 2019, he stood unopposed for the party's leadership, after previous leader Lord Alex Helliker stood down. After becoming party leader, parts of his term-time residence were claimed as the county of Elgaria, part of the province of Metchlia, in September 2019. Michael led the Liberal-Moderates into the 2019 general election, where the party won 6 out of 13 seats. After forming a coalition government with Lady Peace's Dank Party, Michael was appointed Prime Minister on 10 October 2019.
After the Lib-Mods lost seats in the 2020 Adammic general election, the party failed to stay in government and Lord Michael became Leader of the Opposition. He was largely inactive in the opposition role and agreed to step down in August 2021 in favour of Lord James Green, instead assuming the position of Deputy Leader of the party. As the 2021 general election was uncontested, Lord Michael automatically re-assumed office as an MP, and he was appointed as Minister of Defence in the cross-party national unity government set up by Lord Green.
