The Commission for the Preservation of Democracy (Old Sabian: Dıvən mar Dëmokratık Köcım; DMDK, Modern Sabian: demokratanuseribók), commonly known as the Karasal Council, was an extraordinary branch of the Sabioveronese government formed by the Legislative Courts of Sabia and Verona following the signing of the Karasal Treaty between Napoléon Bleuberrie and Graham Müntz, the leaders of the Socialist and Unity parties, in 2012. The Commission was integrated by independent members appointed by the regional Governor, with the task of overseeing all judicial and constitutional matters, effectively assigning it the function of judicial power of Sabia and Verona. It also organized elections across all levels of the state.

The Karasal Council was created in order to placate the political instability that plagued Sabia and Verona in the years that followed its creation, particularly the November revolt. It was also formed to prevent the recently formed Regional Armed Forces from taking over the weak democratic government. During its existence, from 2012 to 2014, the Karasal Council dealt with major issues such as the Schubert-Moss conspiracy and the aftermath of the 2013 coup d'état attempt, after which DMDK Chairperson Rubén D. Hernández assumed interim control of the government.

The Commission was dissolved with the adoption of the Constitution of 2014, which was adopted when the Federal Union of Juclandian Lands was formed. The new constitution did not recognize the existence of the Commission and instead vested judiciary powers in the newly reformed bicameral Courts (the so-called "Judicial Power of the Courts"). By the time the FUJL was formed, the Sabioveronese society no longer felt an organ like the Karasal Council was necessary, as the state's institutions had, for the most part, matured.
