Caelum (pronounced /keɪlum/), formally referred to as the Overlordship of Caelum, is a micronation formed by Jonah Nichols (by the title Overlord Jonah) on 7 March 2022 within the US state of Nebraska under his rulership as the only citizen of the nation.
History
Caelum was founded on 7 March 2022 under the rulership of Overlord Jonah, as a successor state to Agateland. The country was named after the latin word for "sky" or "heaven" in order to symbolize its eventual hope to make it to the stars. The nation had been formed out of various incarnations of the same piece of land, although like its predecessor, kept the absolute monarchy.
Government
The government is headed by the Overlord who holds absolute authority over all other positions and can enact decisions at will, making the government an absolute monarchy. The only act that the Overlord can not influence is when someone chooses to abdicate, although they can throw someone out of office if they would like. Below the Overlord are 4 quadrarchs, each whom rule their own quadrant. Quadrarchs have complete control over their respective quadrant although must have all decisions be approved by the Overlord. Quadrarchs are appointed by the Overlord, and as of the present day, no lower governmental positions exist. The reasoning for such a simple government is primarily due to the small size of the nation although is not planned to be altered any time soon.
