Cristoria, officially Kingdom of Cristoria, was a micronation located within North America, specifically Toledo, Ohio, United States. The micronation was founded by Christopher I on 6 August 2021, by declaring independence from the United States. On 23 December 2022, the Kingdom of Cristoria was briefly dissolved and officially superseded by the Socialist Republic of Cristoria for a total of almost eight months until 30 September 2023, whereas the Socialist Republic of Cristoria was formally dissolved. Almost a month later, on 22 November 2023, the Kingdom was indefinitely collapsed once more.

History

On 6 August 2021, following the collapse of the Empire of Cristoria, the Superior Governing Board of Cristoria (delegates from the then Imperial government) established a new kingdom that would "last forever", according to a delegate.

The kingdom, having its role as monarch vacant for almost three and a half months, finally seen its first monarch on 11 November 2021, it being Christopher I.

On 11 November 2021, Christopher I was crowned as King and led the kingdom to greatness until the months of June–May 2022, whereas two sectors of a subcommuniry of micronations, began clashing with the Kingdom of Cristoria.

As a result, the Kingdom of Cristoria founded the Syndicate Nations of Prosperity, an alliance originally dedicated to dismantling Gorthalism and preserving intermicronational peace. Following the establishment of the Syndicate Nations of Prosperity, the Kingdom of Cristoria went to war with the Kingdom of Huntia and the Gorthian Federation, thus beginning the Cristoro-Huntian Cold War and the War on Gorthalism.

In August 2022, the Kingdom of Cristoria successfully defeated the Kingdom of Huntia with the surrender of Cammy I via retreating from the community. Although the Huntian front was won by the Kingdom of Cristoria, the Gorthian front was left declared inconclusive after 31 August 2022.

Following the two wars, Cristoria entered a period of peace with the subcommuniry of micronations that formerly disliked the micronation. During this peace period, the State of Saturnia was founded on 6 November 2022.

On 23 December 2022, after "decline", the Kingdom of Cristoria was formally dissolved. The micronation community responded with the mourning of the kingdom, it was a relatively hard hitting event for some micronations such as the Socialist Republic of Hoku.

Almost a year later after the collapse of the kingdom, following the collapse of the Socialist Republic of Cristoria, ex-Christopher I wrote a declaration of reestablishment and a constitution that would reinstate the Kingdom of Cristoria.

Thus, on 28 October 2023, Christopher I would be rethroned as King and the once lost Kingdom of Cristoria was revived.

Government and structure

Unlike the 2021 government, whereas it was ruled by the iron fist of a monarch under an absolute monarchy, the 2023 government follows a Constitution.

House of Scribes

The lower chamber of the Parliament was the House of Scribes, which composed of forty members who were elected every 12 months. The House of Scribes exercises the ability to propose legislation, motions, bills, approve budgets, impeach the Prime Minister (requires 2/3 of Parliament), and could directly oversee other governmental agencies within the Cristorian government.

House of Missiones

The upper chamber of the Parliament was the House of Missiones (Latin for couriers), which, similarly to the House of Scribes, had forty members that were elected every 12 months. However, the House of Missiones was composed of representatives from states within the Kingdom of Cristoria. The House of Missiones had the ability to vote on legislative matters such as amendments to the constitution, review legislation passed down by the House of Scribes, and to represent electoral interest from the Cristorian people.

Geography

The kingdom was very limited to geographic beauty due to it's small size. However, it did occupy enough land for humanitarian presence and living standards.

Territories

Cristoria inherited its previous territories from the realm of the 2021 government and the Socialist Republic of Cristoria, givingit life. The capital of the the Kingdom of Cristoria is New Toledo.

Capital City

The capital city of Cristoria was the city that represented Cristoria and the Cristorian motive, which was to acquire all of Toledo under the Cristorian banner. The capital of Cristoria was New Toledo. New Toledo had also served as the Capital during the 2021 government, empire, the modern Anarchist state, and the republic, due a treaty signed during the Free State of Cristoria.

States

States are territories that existed on the main land but were divided into regions. These territories connected to the mainland, meaning any territory that was under Cristoria and is connected to the mainland, receives statehood.

Enclaves

Enclaves were territories that were surrounded by other land that is not connected to the Cristorian mainland and or surrounded by another nation. Those were more typically seen with overseas territories Cristoria never achieved.

Autonomous Cristorian Republics

Introduced in April 2023 under the Socialist Republic of Cristoria, Autonomous Cristorian Republics are republics that have declared autonomy with the Cristorian government and that have been approved by the Parliament of Cristoria

On 6 February 2023 under the Socialist Republic of Cristoria, the state of Scythia joined the Cristorian union as an Autonomous Cristorian Republic.}} On 22 May 2023, leader Lyrecode resigned from his position as leader of Scythia, leaving the autonomous republic vacant. As a result thereof and after 4 months of being vacant, former President Christopher announced the formal dissolution of Scythia on 3 September 2023, almost 27 days before the collapse of the Socialist Republic.

Foreign Relations

Following the collapse of the Socialist Republic of Cristoria, the Socialist Republic of Cristoria unrecognized all of its previous diplomatic allies in such a way to "restart" the kingdom.

In order to engage in diplomacy or mutual recognition with the Kingdom, applicants must've aligned with the foreign policy document, unless it is Cristoria who was firstly approaching the nation in question.

Climate

Cristoria has shared its climate with Toledo since its initial founding in 2020, meaning they receive the same weather. Toledo and Cristoria typically recieve the same weather and on rare occasions Cristorian climate is different from Toledo's. Toledoan and Cristorian weather is typically warm in Spring and cold in the Winter, as per usual with states in the United States.

National colors and symbols

Cristoria's national symbols added up and makes Cristoria's unique character shine a little more as a micronation.

National Flag

The national flag was the ultimate symbol of the Cristorian Kingdom, and was flown to represent the country. The flag was a tricolor that consisted of three columns, the left being royal blue, the middle being white, and the right being gray.

Coat of arms

The Coat of arms of the Kingdom of Cristoria was implemented in October 2023 following the reestablishment of the Cristorian Kingdom.

The coat of arms was housed within a mantle that is topped with the Cristorian crown. Within the mantle lays two angels, one holding both a sword and a scale, representing justice. The other angel was seen holding a sword and a basket of fruit. These angels, symbolizing their duties as messengers of God, helped further the advancement of Cristorian belief in Judaism.

Above the angels was a Northern Cardinal, representing Cristoria's national bird and Cristorian symbols.

Below all of this great detail layed the Cristorian throne, whereas on a soft pillow layed the Constitution of Cristoria, showing obedience to the Cristorian way of government.

Below the throne layed the word מסורת" ושינוי", which is Hebrew for "tradition and change". Below, layed the word "כריסטוריא", which is also Hebrew, except for "Cristoria".

National Bird

Cristoria's national bird was the Northern Cardinal. The bird is red and black. It can typically be found in Southeastern Canada, Eastern United States, Mexico, Belize, and Guatemala.

National Animal

Cristoria's national animal was the Tortoiseshell Cat. The type of cat is quite pricy and can be bought at the price of $1,000-2,000. A cat represents Cristoria due to vigilance, peace, and aggression when agitated.

National Dish

Cristoria's national dish was Beef, as it was seen as the most enjoyed and seen dish within the Cristorian Kingdom. Beef was the most seen being imported and exported via the United States, making it the national dish and food.

National Drink

Cristoria's national drink was Coca-Cola, as it is the most imported and exported drink in the micronation. The drink is a soda which is based in the United States, however it is declared as Cristoria's national drink. Coca-Cola was also the national drink during the Kingdom's reign. Coca-Cola is the obligated beverage to christen ships that are under the Cristorian flag and or were built in Cristoria, differing from most macronations, whom use champagne as a christening beverage. One could argue Coffee could qualify as the national drink, but Coca-Cola is more seen being imported and exported.

National Anthem

Cristoria's national anthem was Humanity's Hope, made by Israeli-American, Inon Zur. The anthem was chosen as it aims to give a scientific, professional, and calming feel to the micronation. The song was also used as a sound track for a faction named the "Institute" in the game Fallout 4.

National Holidays

Holidays, which played a crucial role in Cristorian culture, are taken very seriously. Cristoria celebrates (albeit not listed) all Jewish holidays such as Hanukkah or Shavuot.
