The Darjeeling Diarchy was a Lyteran political alliance created between the Royalist Party of Lytera and the Social Democrats in the Kingdom of Lytera. It was created due to the Lyteran Discord Meeting of February, the first successful attempt to do during the COVID pandemic. Both parties agreed to form it in order to keep power in the 2021 Election. The Diarchy was dissolved following Parliament being dissolved.
History
The Alliance was formed on the 24th February 2020, after the events of the Lyteran Discord Meeting, formed by the improved relations between the two parties and the desire to push a socialist agenda on the Kingdom and it's neighbours. The name was decided due to the fact the two party leaders were playing VRchat and watching Girls Und Panzer whilst Drinking Tea. The Diarchy was dissolved following Parliament being dissolved for inactivity.

Criticism
The Diarchy immediately faced criticism from the Greens, Weeaboo Rights, Jingo Jungle Party and Nationalist Party, who saw it as an attempt to hold power with a one party state more formally, with the arrangement having been informal since the last election where the LSD promised to vote in support of LRP policies.
