The Deputy Prime Minister of Norton, officially the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Norton, is the deputy head of government of the Kingdom of Norton. The Deputy Prime Minister is a member of the federal Cabinet. The incumbent Deputy Prime Minister is Tobey Wyles since 5 June 2022.
The King appoints and dismisses the Deputy Prime Minister.
Appointment
The Deputy Prime Minister is formally appointed to the position by and upon the recommendation of the King. The DPM serves at his Majesty’s pleasure, which allows the King to dismiss the DPM at any time. The Deputy Prime Minister's primary constitutional role is to support the prime minister in the running of the executive branch of the Nortonian Federal Government. The position of Deputy Prime Minister is often given to the leader of a Junior party in a Governing Coalition, as is the case presently. The position is often assigned to a minister alongside a departmental portfolio brief, for example, Nafiz Morshalin, also served as the Secretary of State for Housing and Regeneration.
Qualifications
The following qualifications shall be followed for one to be appointed as Deputy Prime Minister:
- Only a Nortonian Citizen may be appointed.
- Only a member of the Estates General may be appointed.
The Constitution provides that a citizen is not eligible for appointment to the office of Deputy Prime Minister if:
- The citizen has been declared ineligible by the Supreme Court.
- The citizen holds views that contradict the Constitution of the Kingdom of Norton.
Oath
The Deputy Prime Minister takes the oath of office as follows:
“"I (Name) do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Norton, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the Kingdom of Norton."

- The Deputy Prime Minister shall discharge the functions of the deputy head of the Nortonian Federal Government.
- The Deputy Prime Minister shall deputise for the prime minister
- The Deputy Prime Minister, as a member of the estates, shall be the a liaison officer between the King and the Estates General.
