The office of Outreach Officer was created on 10 February 2019, with the position renamed to Secretary of Recruitment on 7 July 2019. The holder of the position is "responsible for representing and promoting the GUM in venues outside of the GUM itself, including other micronational organisations." The Secretariat can also appoint a GUM Ambassador, and runs the Sister Cities Program.
