The District of New Tenochtitlan (/ˈdistrict of new tenochtitlan/ ˈdɪstrɪkt ʌv nu Tenochtitlan) is the capital District of the Norfolk Empire and the youngest subdivision. It is surrounded by the Republic of Tamcoop inside of the American State of Florida.

The District of New Tenochtitlan close to Hillsborough County, Florida near Tampa Bay. The District of New Tenochtitlan is a Semi-parliamentary monarchy, under the Norfolk Empire, with the Royal Family as the head of government and state. The population of the District of New Tenochtitlan is currently only the and the largest and only city is New Tenochtitlan. The District of New Tenochtitlan has two official languages English and Esperanto along with an unofficial language, Nahuatl, which is used on some signs and government logos.

Etymology

Since the Norfolk Empire considers itself to be the successor of the Aztec Empire, they decided to name the capital district after the former capital city of the Aztec Empire, Tenochtitlan. The word “Tenochtitlan” also means “place of the nopal rock[1]”.

History

Tamcoopese Occupation

Before the Norfolk Empire attempted to conquer the area that is the City of New Tenochtitlan, it was under control of the Republic of Tamcoop. It was been under control of the Republic of Tamcoop for two years and nine months, as of the date of this documentation. Not much has happened in the area, due to the inactivity of the Tamcoopese government, but there has been multiple revolution centered in the area. The Genasian Revolution of 2017 started on the land of the City of New Tenochtitlan, but ended shortly, the Konation Revolution of 2018 started on the land of the City of New Tenochtitlan, but also ended shortly, and the most recent Revolution was the Democracy Now Revolution, but ended after about two hours of fighting.

Foundation

On 25 June 2019, the Royal Family of the Norfolk Empire officially declared independence from the United States of America. They sent the Declaration of Independence to the President of the United States of America, the Secretary of State of the United States of America, the Governor of Florida, the Governor of North Carolina, the Representative for Florida’s 15th Congressional District, the Representative for North Carolina’s 11th Congressional District, Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, the Representative for Florida’s 13th Congressional District, and the Pinellas County Administrator. After the multiple declarations of independence were sent to each of those individuals, the Royal Family of the Norfolk Empire signed the thirty article-long constitution of the Norfolk Empire. This constitution is currently being kept by HRH Prince Cooper Norfolk I in an undisclosed location so that the constitution will not be damaged. The District of New Tenochtitlan has not been conquered yet, so HIM Emperor Jason Norfolk I signed the first Royal Decree in the history of the Norfolk Empire to move the provisional capital of the Norfolk Empire to New Brookeside, the Duchy of Dellfolk. The provisional capital remained New Brookeside until the District of New Tenochtitlan was partially-conquered on 26 June 2019.

Conquering the Norfolk Empire

On 26 June 2019, the conquering of the District of New Tenochtitlan, where the City of New Tenochtitlan is, had begun. The Libereco Wall was constructed to be the border between the Norfolk Empire and the Republic of Tamcoop. The wall has been constructed out of bean bag chairs, plastic, wooden, and metal bins, and a chair. The wall was named after the word for “Freedom” in Esperanto to represent the Freedom of the District of New Tenochtitlan from the Republic of Tamcoop. Multiple important supplies, such as a lacrosse stick, golf club, punching mitt, three helmets, a shin pad, elbow pad, glove, two sets of spiked sports shoes, two duffel bags, three backpacks, two pieces of wood, a stapler, hole puncher, binoculars, a multi-coloured tape roll, and a bag of climbing wall rocks.[2] These supplies could be used to defend the District of New Tenochtitlan or to gain more land for the subdivision. The situation is still ongoing.

Settlements

The District of New Tenochtitlan is comprised of separate pieces of land, but they are considered to be part of the same city, the City of New Tenochtitlan.

Military

The Norish Military is the armed forces of the Norfolk Empire, which is fully funded by taxpayers money and the Royal Family, partially. The three main branches of the Norish Military are the Norish Army, the Norish Air Force, and the Norish Navy.

The Keourac Naval Base is in the District of New Tenochtitlan. It is the naval base known for having the Explorer 300 Naval Ship.

Demographics

Population

The District of New Tenochtitlan has the exact population of three. The average age of a citizen of the Norfolk is 36 years and ranges from twelve years to fifty years old.

Languages

English is the most commonly spoken language in the District of New Tenochtitlan, known and used daily by the entire Population. Nahuatl and Esperanto, which is also spoken by approximately 14% of the Norfolk Empire, is used by the government, businesses, and on almost all signs.

Culture

General Culture

French Culture and American Culture has a large affect on the Norfolk Empire. Some citizens enjoy watching Golf, Netflix, and listening to NPR.

Citizens enjoy listening to Too Many Zooz and Michael Bublé. The food Lasagna is also very popular among citizens.

Religion

The District of New Tenochtitlan does have an official religion that is recognized by the government, but there are three main groups of religions in the District of New Tenochtitlan. Christianity is the largest religion in the District of New Tenochtitlan, which is followed by 33.33% of the micronation. 100% of them follow Presbyterianism. 33.33% of the population follows Buddhism, all are Theravāda Buddhists. 33.33% of the population are Apatheists.

Article Eight of the Constitution of the Norfolk Empire states that the “Parliament, the Prime Minister, or the Royal Family shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.” This article allows any citizen of the District of New Tenochtitlan to have the freedom of religion.

Economy

The District of New Tenochtitlan has paper and acorns, none of which have been distributed before.
