The Dominica Autonomous City of the Democratic Christian Federation of Melite, or simply Dominica, is the only autonomous city and the capital of the Democratic Christian Federation of Melite and its direct predecessor, the Democratic Christian Republic of Melite. It is named after Saint Dominic de Guzman, Roman Catholic presbyter and founder of the Order of the Preachers, known more by the demonym as the Dominicans. The President of Melite resides in this City and is an MP representing the City in Parliament.
