The Dominion of Aenopia, also known simply as Aenopia, was an autonomous territorial entity which claims to be a sovereign state however it is more commonly referred to as a micronation to the majority of people. Founded in the macronation of the United Kingdom of Great Britain (commonly referred to by many as the UK), Aenopia declared independence from said nation in July 2019. The nation is made up of 4 non-contiguous enclave territories surrounded by the counties of West Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Shropshire in the United Kingdom

Aenopia recognises plush toys as provisional citizens, this means that they lose privileges that human citizens enjoy. This includes the right to vote, only receiving basic healthcare (sewn up holes, limb replacement, renewing stuffing, etc.) and can't apply for most jobs. The Empire consists of four Territories and two crown dependencies.

Etymology and terminology

The origin of Aenopia is a mystery to many, for only the Emperor knows. It is believed to have been created by throwing letters together to find something for which sounds appealing, which is surprising due to the tradition of naming places after Welsh towns and Cities.

"Aenopian" is the official demonym used to describe something belonging to Aenopia, this is also the demonym for someone from Aenopia.

Strictly speaking, "Aenopia" can refer to the whole Empire, or to the sovereign state of Aenopia, which does not include the colonies; there is a small distinction between the two.

History

Aenopia was formed on 1 July 2019 under the name of the "Federation of Aenopia", however only a few hours passed before talks were underway with James Ellis of Empire of Emosia to become a dominion. Following this, a treaty was signed between the two leaders and Simon I was denounced as "Governor" and the young nation became a dominion as desired.

After this, Aenopia began developing a series of rockets, with the first being a simple matchstick rocket named Nova I. 2 launches were tried in all, with both ending in failure. It is intended that the rocket is repurposed as a "missile" in the armed forces once it's scientific used are complete. Along with this, the Aenopian Aeronautics Administration (AAA) was set up. This covered space exploration and the development and testing of new aviation technology.

Recently, Aenopia began to expand, with a small island located in the river Teme and a small grassy area in the peak district claimed. Simon I also became the Governor of Aenopian Plushunia and the Lord of an Astropolis territory. Simon I promised that after independece, the nation would "Become an Empire akin to Emosia and Imperial Britain.

Geography

The total surface area of the Empire of Adammia is approximately 179,090m² (44.25 acres). Aenopia has one territory in each British county, with these being: New Llandudno and Subsidiaries in West Yorkshire, Aenopian Calver in Derbyshire, Aenopian Teme in Shropshire and a planned territory in South Yorkshire. The lowest point in Adammia is in Myway, which is 16m above sea level on the banks of the river, and the highest point is in Ashoria, at 147 meters above sea level. There are no territories in Aenopia that are populated or in any urban areas. This is to make it easier to enforce land claims and to ensure the privacy of any residents of these areas.

Most of the Empire is empty grassland, with at least 28% being covered in trees. Land in the Empire is generally flat and has no distinctive natural features, except for Aenopian Teme which is located on top of the River Teme, hence the name. The vast majority of the Empire's surface comes from the New Llandundo and Subsidiaries and Aenopian Calver, which consist of large fields as well as some medium sized wooded areas, and are completely uninhabited. There are talks underway regarding plans to annex a large field in South Yorkshire near to the British town of Conisborough.

Military

Aenopia does not have much of a military, however it makes up for this in the development of an air force. Simon I said that "There is no point in a standing military when most of your claims are spread across Britain, almost all of your population is a stuffed you and your only human citizens are located 5000 miles away."

Parliament

Aenopia, like other micronations, was formed due to a poor political system in the ruler's country, this being the United Kingdom. The country runs as an absolute monarchy, but each state has its own council which decided on smaller, individual things for each state. Due to a lack of citizens, there is currently no members of these councils, so they're run by The Emperor himself. This will be for the foreseeable future. The council is split into multiple roles:

It is worth noting that these roles are offered to anyone who wants one, albeit with a background check to ensure they are serious and a safe representative for Aenopia. Anybody with a role automatically receives Aenopian citizenship regardless of whether they want it or not. The Emperor has the power to override the council if necessary.

- = Steven Biko is the name given to a stuffed toy that serves as a mascot to Aenopia. The role of mascot has no real use within Parliament, however.

Transport

Aenopia does not have any form of transport at this moment of time, however New Llandudno is located next to a road and a railway line, with trains operated by Arriva trains Northern for which serve Blackpool and York. Few states have road systems, this is complemented by the Public Transport Act. Transport around Wales can be taken by bus, taxi or trains. New Llandudno had a OO gauge heritage railway under construction- this was to utilise National Rail Collection locomotives and rolling stock. It was to utilise a section of the now-defunct Table-mountain to Lego world line, which was built before the idea of New Cymru was ever conceived. This idea disappeared after New Cymru was dissolved, however a short amount of track remains. It is worth checking Timetables or Google for any information regarding services if needed.

Aenopia, like the rest of Great Britain, has a temperate climate. Temperatures are usually within a range of 2 °C - 7 °C in winter but can drop as low as -11 °C. In summer, the average temperature range is 12 °C - 21 °C, but can rarely reach as high as 33 °C. Winters are characterised by rain and, in recent years, large downfalls of snow. Summers are warm and humid with occasional heavy rainstorms, however there are usually only about one or two thunderstorms per year. The record temperature recorded in Aenopia is 40.2 °C in New Llandudno, however it is unknown whether the readings are accurate or not.

Economy

Aenopia currently does not have an economy, however it is a largely agricultural nation. New Llandudno grows 3 different types of chilli, peas, strawberries, cucumbers, tomatoes, blackcurrants. They're currently trying to grow an Apple tree. The Nation also designs railway locomotives and rolling stock, this is done by New Cymru Rail Solutions. The company is behind the Mark 4a family of coaches, for which was designed during the existence of New Cymru, but never built.
