The Grand Duchy of Ensorburgh is a small province located in the Upper Dominion of Florida in Garránia. It was established on July 1st, 2022, and is led by Grand Duke Ezekiel Ensor I, who is also Emperor of Garránia. The province covers an area of 1.24 km2 and has an estimated population of 490, with 3 Garránian citizens.
Ensorburgh City is the de facto capital city of the province and the current seat of the Emperor. It is the largest and most populous city in the province. The official languages of the province are English and Irish. The province shares borders with the United States on all sides.
History
The Grand Duchy of Ensorburgh has played a crucial role in Garránia's governance and diplomacy since its establishment on July 1st, 2022, coinciding with the founding of the Empire of Garránia. It derives its name from the Royal House of Ensor, the lineage of Emperor Ezekiel Ensor I. From its inception, the Grand Duchy of Ensorburgh has been an integral part of Garránia's political and social development. It has steadfastly supported and contributed to the Empire's achievements, notably as the de facto capital, Ensorburgh, also serves as the current seat of the Emperor.
Despite its relatively short history, the Grand Duchy of Ensorburgh has already been involved in several significant events. In August 2022, the province experienced the impact of Hurricane Ian, resulting in substantial damage to various areas of Ensorburgh. Nevertheless, thanks to the assistance provided by U.S. American recovery efforts, the province swiftly recovered from the aftermath of the storm.
Geography
The Grand Duchy of Ensorburgh is situated in the Upper Dominion of Florida, which has a humid subtropical climate under the Köppen-Geiger climate classification system. The region experiences hot, humid summers and mild winters, with a year-round average temperature above 18°C, and frequent thunderstorms. The province, like the rest of Garránia, is also at risk of tropical storms and hurricanes, particularly during the Atlantic hurricane season, which runs from June 1 to November 30. Despite these challenges, the Grand Duchy of Ensorburgh remains a vibrant and growing province within the Empire of Garránia.
Subdivisions
There are three municipalities within Ensorburgh. These are the City of Ensorburgh, Empress Marie Township, and the San Carlos Township.
