Education in Wellmoore

Education in Wellmoore is required between the ages of 4 and 18 split into three types of school; Primary, Secondary and College/Sixth-Form (like in the UK). After this education students may advance on to university if they wish.

Primary Education

Primary education is for students aged 4–11. Students learn basics in Maths, English (known as Literacy), History and Geography.

Students study for SATs, these aren't official qualifications but they examine how much they learned in Primary School.

Secondary Education

Secondary education is for students aged 11–16. Students study for Certificates of Secondary Education (CSEs).

Here students may choose subjects as well as having to study 'core subjects'.

Core Subjects

  • English (Literature and Language)
  • Science (Foundation, Higher or Triple)
  • Mathematics (Foundation or Higher)

Option Subjects

  • History
  • Computer Science
  • Geography
  • Design Technology (Product Design, Systems and Control or Textiles)
  • Political Science
  • Religious Studies
  • Business Studies
  • Portuguese

College and Further Education

In college, students (who are aged 16–18) study for Advanced Levels (A-Levels) and in University (students aged 18+) students study for degrees.

Both qualifications allow the choice of any subject listed previously as there are no core subjects. At A-Levels students pick 2-4 subjects and at degree people pick 1.
