The Elarian Trade Union (ETU) is an intergovernmental, political, and economic union of 5 member states that are located primarily in the United States. ETU policies aim to ensure the free movement of people, goods, services and capital within the internal market and manage the external trade, agriculture, industrial and regional development; to establish an area of freedom, security and justice in their member states. The ETU has often been described as an external yet executive political entity with the characteristics of either a federation or confederation, sharing qualities with the European Union. It is also a form of political entity a micronation may join if they wish to join LENS. There are many micronations attempting to join the ETU, with the ETU also actively seeking out members.

History

The idea of a trade union between members of LENS or simply Elarian allied nations was thought of since late 2020, however there was little interest at the time because Elarians did not want to be seen as a European inspired culture, considering it extremely unoriginal and not unique enough. Later on, in 2021, when CHASM was founded, there were talks of a trade union briefly between some of the members, however there were no agreements made as few of the member micronations actively farmed or had any goods to trade. Eventually, in-trading before the Kingdom of Ela'r'oech became an empire had started, with territories such as Alaria and other micronations which Ela'r'oech had been able to conquer were involved. Alaria was given back most of the land it lost in the Elarian-Alarian Conflict, additionally they were given around 1,000,000 Stix - Ela'r'oech former currency - which equates to around 2,300 UED in 2022. Eventually, it had been discovered that an Elarian Trade Union would be created when it was leaked that Charles had been talking about the idea on numerous occasions. It was founded around two weeks after the initial leaks and it was decided that it would be founded on 18 August 2022.

Development of member countries

Industrial development

Industrialization is the period of social and economic change that transforms a human group from an agrarian society into an industrial society. This involves an extensive re-organization of an economy for the purpose of manufacturing. ETU allows members to enter Industrial Eras as a transition to new manufacturing processes. The transition should include going from hand production methods to machines, new chemical manufacturing and iron production processes, the increasing use of steam power and water power and the development of machine tools.

Agricultural development

Agricultural development with help from the ETU often deals with encouraging the micronational members to begin to farm and be able to trade the vegetables and plants which they plant and therefore get better trades. This involves the transition of a micronational culture to a lifestyle of agriculture and settlement, making an increasingly large population possible. The goal of the development is to provide the basis for centralized administrations and political structures, hierarchical ideologies, depersonalized systems of knowledge (e.g. writing), densely populated settlements, specialization and division of labor, more trade, the development of non-portable art and architecture, and greater property ownership.

Regional development

Regional development would be help from the ETU to ensure regional and territorial expansion for members of ETU. Primarily, examples of this would be the Empire of Ela'r'oech, Zeprana, and more. Additionally, the development can refer to the population shift from rural to urban areas, while still keeping with the agricultural development to adopt bigger cities in micronation into more urban regions with more commercial buildings to provide for businesses and therefore an economic growth.

  • Hold goods to trade.
  • Hold a stable currency.
  • Hold the ability to properly trade with most or all members of the ETU.
