His Majesty's Armed Forces, more commonly called the Eniarkian Armed Forces, is the national defense force of the Kingdom of Eniarku and its dominions. The military is also responsible for domestic law enforcement within the kingdom, as well as the promotion of Eniarku's wider interests and supporting international peacekeeping efforts. They are composed of: the Royal Navy, a brown-water navy with a fleet of four commissioned ships; and the Eniarkian Army, the kingdom's primary land warfare branch. The Armed Forces also work closely with the General Intelligence Directorate, Eniarku's highly-efficient intelligence agency that operates both domestically and abroad.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Eniarkian Armed Forces is the Eniarkian monarch, King Aaron I, to whom members of the forces swear allegiance. The forces are maintained primarily, however, by the Parliament during peacetime by its controls on the military's budget and assets. The armed forces are directly managed by the Ministry of Defense, headed by the Minister of Defense.

Command structure

As Sovereign and head of state, King Aaron I is the Chief of the Armed Forces and their commander-in-chief. By convention, executive power over the military is exercised by the Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, and the Prime Minister (with the advice of the Council of State) makes key decisions on the use of the armed forces. The King, however, remains the ultimate authority of the military, and maintains this supremacy through the royal allegiance of its members; in essence, this allows the monarch to prevent any militarized action he or she wishes, regardless of the Prime Minister or Council of State's decision. Regardless of royal intervention, the Prime Minister and Minister of Defense are held accountable on behalf of the monarch by Parliament.

Eniarkian Army

The Army is the branch of the armed forces mainly responsible for land-based operations. It is the oldest branch of the military, dating back to even before the Republic of Eniarku, originally being used as the armed branch of what has now been termed the May Revolution, when small portions of U.S. land were ceded in order to create the original republic. When the semi-presidential republic became a Communist state in early 2010 (See Democratic People's Republic of Eniarku), the Army's first official rank structure was developed, and later more military practices were put in place as well.

The primary mission of the Army is to protect both the kingdom's territory as well as its people. The Army assists in the transport of government officials and valuable assets, and is the considered the main police force in the kingdom, as there is no separate police unit. The Army is administered by the Ministry of Defense, the executive department in charge of the armed forces. The Minister of Defense is typically a retired civilian having attained at least a two-star rank during their time of service, whose main duty is to advise all military operations in and out of Eniarku, as well as advise the various branch leaders and Prime Minister on matters concerning the armed forces.

Royal Navy

The Royal Navy is the brown-water navy of Eniarku, responsible for military presence in and policing of Eniarku's waterways, and as of August 2015 consists of four commissioned ships. In contrast to many macronational navies, the ships of the Royal Navy are not constantly sailing; rather, they are deployed on an as-needed basis, returning to port when their assignments end. As a result, sailors are often assigned as honor guards or attachés to senior officials in His Majesty's Government, and many members of the royal family are given positions in the branch due to the rarity of deployment (maintaining royal safety).

Royal Guard

The Royal Guard is the independent unit of the armed forces charged directly with the protection of HM The King and other members of the royal family. While the Royal Guard participates in many formal parades and ceremonies (often as an honor guard), it is a fully-functioning combat unit consisting of specially-trained members that are handpicked from both the Army and the Royal Navy. The unit is the only service branch that is de jure under the complete control of the sovereign, royal family and Council of State (as opposed to the Army and Royal Navy, which are controlled directly by the Ministry of Defense), and receives limited ministry oversight. In addition to protecting Eniarku's royals, the Guard is also responsible for the proper guarding of royal properties throughout the kingdom and its territories.

General Intelligence Directorate

The General Intelligence Directorate (GID) is the chief intelligence agency of the kingdom. Though not a branch of the armed forces, the GID maintains extremely close administrative and operational relationships with the military. The agency is composed primarily of non-commissioned civilian intelligence agents who carry out clandestine intelligence operations and utilize covert warfare techniques in order to protect Eniarku's interests domestically and abroad. More often than not, however, commissioned members of the armed services or other tacticians carry out these operations with directorate oversight. The GID also operates with extreme autonomy from the administrative bureaucracy of the Ministry of Defense and Parliament, often being directly overseen by the king and Council of State, and maintains wide jurisdiction in its activities.
