The People's Ground Forces of Eniarku(UkrainianНародний Сухопутні війська) are the land forces of the Democratic People's Republic of Eniarku. However, the Eniarkian Ground Forces in their present state are less than a year old, and as a result have not been deployed in any important military engagements..

Background

Founding

The People's Ground Forces were founded on February 15, 2010, the day after the Democratic People's Republic of Eniarku was founded. It previously (when Eniarku was still the Republic of Eniarku) had no form of existence beyond a private bodyguard unit of People's President, Aaron A. Meek while he was the President of the Republic of Eniarku. The army was originally, and this is still very much its primary function, intended to be a defensive force to protect important leaders of the country.

First Re-Organization

On July 18, 2010 the Commander-in-Chief Meek and Marshal Mason Horn agreed that a reorganization of the armed forces was needed. The Commander-in-Chief presented his new plans of universal conscription to the government and they were approved. The plans also outlined for the ranking system to be revised. Many more ranks have been added to the original six. The plans also recommended an urgent recruiting program so that the Marshal could recruit new members of the military quickly. Finally, the plans called for a change in weaponry systems from Nerf weaponry to Airsoft weaponry. The switch (as of July 20, 2010) has not been made, but if it is, Nerf weapons may still be used for training purposes as well. Also, until the Army can recruit more soldiers, the previous, simpler six-rank system will be used.
