The Department of Foreign Relations is primarily responsible for creating and maintaining diplomatic ties between the Kingdom of Liahonia and other micronations. Its motto is "To be a bridge between nations."

Overview

Organization

The Minister of Foreign Relations is the head of the department and a member of the Cabinet of Ministers. The minister organizes and supervises the entire department and its staff, as well as advising King Matthew on any important matters relating to the department and its activities.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Protecting and assisting Liahonian citizens living or traveling abroad
  • Keeping the public informed about foreign policy and relations with other countries
  • Nominating ambassadors for diplomatic missions
  • Creating and maintaining diplomatic ties
  • Grants and issues passports to Liahonian citizens
  • Negotiates, interprets, and terminates treaties and agreements
  • Informing the public on the political, economic, social, cultural, and humanitarian conditions in foreign countries
  • Coordinate official visits at home and abroad

7 August 2022 Relations fell apart after Dracul established a new mutual recognition policy.[1]
Constitutional Monarchy of Airedalandia 27 June 2020 Treaty did not pass under the National Parliament of Airedalandia.[a]

Unrecognized Micronations

Kingdom of Ruritania Considered to be too vague regarding the division between its fictional and genuine claims.
Communal People's Republic of Wamong Practices extreme socialism.
Other World Kingdom OWK inappropriately treats men as sex slaves. The are believed to have an evil, tyrannical government.
State of Berengarthia Berengarthia's constitution makes all women equal, but restricts the freedoms of men.
Nitanistan Restricts the freedoms of religion.
Union of Christian Communist Republics The UCCR has set heavy restrictions on the right to freedom of religion, banning all denominations that are not Christian, which is a violation of basic human rights. Liahonia does not recognize any of the republics within the union.[b]
Enclave of Taedong Practices extreme communism, possible connections to the DPR of Korea.
Reformed People's Republic Prohibits religious freedom.
 East Galway Has currently or previously shown support for the Putin regime, and its decision to invade Ukraine.[c]

ICROTA The ICROTA has laid claim upon the entire island of Cuba. Claiming already sovereign countries is highly frowned upon by the micronational community and is seen as a non-serious and unrealistic claim.
Federation of Faltree Believed to be corrupted by the Devil. Faltree is therefore considered a threat to Christianity.
Corsian Empire Has passed laws against English people, despite their official language being English.[e]
Lytpatri Holds an unrealistic claim on the Moon.[f]
Empire of Ela'r'oech Oppresses members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which is in clear violation of basic human rights. The King is himself a member of said church.[g]
