Foreign relations of Shorewell

The foreign relations of the Shorewellese Empire are driven through its Department for Foreign Relations, built up in 2016 with the establishment of the nation. In spite of this, the authority to approve recognition, or for that matter any treaty, is surrendered over to the Monarchy unless otherwise delegated.

The Shorewellese Empire is the only remaining sovereign state in its vicinity, with the rest having become constituent states of Shorewell. Due to such, Shorewell retains an overall neutral foreign policy, with shifts between pacifism, isolationism, interventionist and expansionist ideas being evident at times. Shorewell was a member of the Union Against Micronational War, International Agricultural Development Pact, and the Grand Unified Micronational.

Recognized nations

Amidst the politics that surround Shorewell, the Empire has taken to recognizing various nations, states, and entities. Nations which are protected states of Shorewell are usually given protection in terms of military, though the arrangement itself is designed in separate treaties between Shorewell and the protected state. In addition, while many states have signed treaties with Shorewell, they aren't necessarily limited to mutual recognition, and at times include provisions of non-aggression or an alliance, but all in all, Shorewell is still considered to have signed a treaty of mutual recognition with that nation.
