Găletida is a mythical ancient city lost under the water. It is believed that the Găletidians had a technology so great that their buckets far surpassed any that we ever managed to make, except for those made by Bucket Saint Radu.

Culture

Language

Although the Găletidian language remained undeciphered, some words that repeated often were believed to be names, and one of those names was thought to be Radu.

History

In ancient times, Găletida was the greatest city in the world, posessing technology so advanced it surpassed even that of today in some fields, especially in the art of bucketmaking.

Cataclysm

The reason for the city's downfall remains unknown, but it is believed to have stood for a thousand years in greatness and prosperity, before becoming corrupted by their push towards technological progress, which was fueled not by love and compassion but by greed.

The Găletidians became obsessed with crafting buckets greater than any other, and even attempted to craft buckets that were greater than Radu's. This was believed to be the last straw. At the moment Găletida cracked, great celebrations were being prepared, which never got to take place. It is believed that Radu punished them for their heresy and arrogance by proving how imperfect their skills were, by mocking the quality of their most important bucket, Găletida itself, and proved that the bucket they thought most indestructible was in fact very fragile.

It is unclear whether they succeeded in making a bucket greater than Radu's before their downfall. Some say that they did and that was the reason for the great celebration, while the faithful consider it impossible and a heresy to say otherwise.

Discovery

In early 2023, Radu of Enada discovered the Lost City of Găletida at the bottom of Enada Lake, which was located just under his lake house. The discovery was not a mere coincidence, but rather it was believed to be fate that led Radu to find the city. As a result of this discovery, Radu began to uncover his mystical powers and finally realised his connection to the buckets, as the Găletidians were believed to have had a technology so great that their buckets far surpassed any that had ever been made, except for those made by Radu himself.

Legends

Chalice of Găletida

Some legends speak of a magical artifact known as the Chalice of Găletida, which is said to possess the power to grant its owner immortality. Many have sought this artifact, but none have been able to find it.

Some believe that Radu of Enada found that chalice and that is the reason he ascended to sainthood, becoming Bucket Saint Radu.

Clairvoyance

According to legend, the Găletidians had the ability to foresee the future, and they knew about Bucket Saint Radu and that he would eventually find their lost city, long after its inevitable downfall. Some more extreme ideas even suggest that their knowledge of Radu predates the city itself, and that they left their homeland and the surface world in order to build Găletida in Radu's name and honour. This legend suggests that the Găletidians faced great threats on the surface, and their migration underwater was their only chance of survival and salvation.

Time travel

Radu's discovery of Găletida has led to many theories about the city and its inhabitants, including the idea that Radu's Ark near Naoi has the ability to sail through time, and that it was sent to Găletida during the Cataclysm to save its buckets, as well as the inhabitants who remained faithful. However, the ark's ability to travel through time remains unproven, and even if it can, it is unknown when or where they were buckets and survivours of Găletida were sent to.

Layout

The city of Găletida was said to have been in the shape of an upside-down bucket, which was poetic, as it meant that the greatest city was actually a bucket that gave life and created a habitable environment in an otherwise very inhospitable one.
