Her Grand Ducal Highness Gabriela I (born Gabriela Almeida, on 4 June 1986) is the reigning Grand Duchess of the Grand Duchy of Mëcklewmburg-Wladir and has been on throne since 9 April 2021, following its foundation as a Sildavian province and autonomous state. Months after its foundation as an autonomous province, the Grand Duchy became independent in June 2021 under an absolute diarchy when the role of the Grand Duchess was shared between herself and the Queen of Sildavia. Under the diarchy, the Queen discharged the duties of the head of state while she assumed the duties of the head of government. However, in December 2021, Queen Maria I abdicated in her favour with the diarchy being abolished and Grand Duchess Gabriela becoming the sole monarch of the nation.
Apart from her role as the Grand Duchess of Mëcklewmburg-Wladir, she has also been served as the Governance Advisor of Sildavia for almost two years, and has also been the Secretary-General of the Sildavian Commonwealth of Nations since 27 June 2021.
Personal life
Grand Duchess Gabriela was born on 4 June 1986 in Santo André in the Brazilian state of São Paulo. She is married to Prince Gustavo Henrique, who is the current Prince Consort of Mëcklewmburg-Wladir. She has two sons of a previous marriage; Miguel, Hereditary Grand Duke of Mëcklewmburg-Wladir and Prince Isaac.
Micronational career
Career in Sildavia
Grand Duchess Gabriela got involved into micronationalism for the first time following the establishment of the Principality of Sildavia on 17 February 2020. She was appointed as the Minister of Education following the establishment of the principality and served until May 2020. She was then named to serve as the Prime Minister in May and remained in that position until February 2021, when Sildavia became a kingdom and the Queen assumed absolute power. She was then named as the Governance Advisor and has served as Advisor until July 2022. After leave the Privy Council, she assumed the position of Ambassador to Brasil.
Career in Mëcklewmburg-Wladir
The Grand Duchy of Mëcklewmburg-Wladir was established on 9 April 2021 as a province and autonomous region of the Kingdom of Sildavia when she was appointed to serve as the Governor-General and Head of Government of the Grand Duchy until it was decided by the Crown and Government in July the same year to separate the Grand Duchy territorially from Sildavia and grant them independence. The negotiations which took place in the Treaty of Mëcklewmburg-Wladir included the following:
- The Queen would remain the head of state of the Grand Duchy and would continue with the title of Grand Duchess, serving as adviser of state to the Head of Government.
- The Grand Duchess would act as head of state and maintain the integrity, independence and self-determination of the state.
- The two countries would now form a sort of international organization to serve the interests of the participating countries, functioning as a political association that was called the Sildavian Commonweath of Nations, until now composed of Sildavia and the Grand Duchy.
Soon after the independence of Mëcklewmburg-Wladir, it ratified the treaties of the Conference of Santiago and soon became its member.
On 3 December 2021 after a meeting between Queen Maria I and Grand Duchess Gabriela it was agreed to initiate the country's transition from a diarchy to a monarchy and such negotiations between the two lasted until the 10th of the same month, culminating with the Act of Abdication of 2021 of Mëcklewmburg-Wladir when Queen Maria chose to abdicate in her of Grand Duchess of Mëcklewmburg-Wladir, thus passing on the throne to Gabriela who assumed the role of the sole monarch of the Grand Duchy.
