The Germanophony, formally the Society of Germanophone Nations (German: Bund Deutschsprachiger Nationen) is an intermicronational cultural and linguistic society promoting the usage and learning of the German language for micronational purposes. It was founded by Sebastian Linden of the Free Pristinian Republic, who currently also acts as General Secretary.

Members

Being a cultural and linguistic society as opposed to an intermicronational organisation, the Germanophony allows membership for any nations, administrative regions, peoples, or even individuals at their discretion.

Members

Membership is currently granted at the discretion of the General Secretary, with definite requirements being:

• For nations or regions: Recognition of the German language as an official language, or otherwise legal recognition of the German language such as recognised or local language status.
• For peoples: Use and/or identification with the German language and/or culture.
• For individuals: Vested interest and basic skills in the German language.

Regions, peoples and individuals may not join separately if their nation is already a member, as they may automatically partake in the Society's affairs due to their respective nation's membership.

Observers

Currently, there are no observers. Observer status is granted at the discretion of the General Secretary. There are no requirements for observership.

Activities

The Society is planning, in future, to offer services such as translation, tutelage in the German language, culture and history, and promotion of German language use intermicronationally. Member nations of the Society that are currently also members of the Grand Unified Micronational are currently advocating the promotion of the German language to an official language of the GUM.
