Halstopia (pronounced [hælstoʊpiə]) was a short-lived state in the Republic of Secundomia. It withdrew following a coup d'etat just a day after it became a state in Secundomia. It joined Secundomia on December 17, 2009 and withdrew on the 18th.
Etymology
Halstopia, according to its founder, means "Sugar land," although, it is unknown which language it derives from.
History
As a state
Halstopia joined Secundomia on December 17, 2009. It was lead by H of Halstopia, who had been eager to begin a micronation. Unfortunately, there were problems immediately due to tensions between Secundomian leader Parker I and H. These tensions boiled over as an associate of H lead a coup of the state, and declared independence. The state was immediately dissolved afterwards. H left micronationalism after the incident.
Voitokas
The state of Halstopia re-emerged as a city and proto-state in 2010 as in the new micronation of Voitokas. This nation's existence was meant to be kept a secret from Parker I, however, inside sources lead to the Finland Project exposing Voitokas to the Secundomian Intelligence Agency. Since Voitokas, Halstopia has been inactive as a micronational entity.
