His Royal Air Force was the aerial warfare branch of the Baustralian Armed Forces, responsible for the protection of the airspace of Baustralia. HRAF has always been the weakest force, and is junior to the Baustralian Army, and is the reason it was formed three times. Under the leadership of ACM Kostuik, HRAF has boosted in recruitment, having only 5 fewer enlisted members than His Royal Navy, since then, however, the air force has been once again dissolved.

History

Formed on 2 July 2017 by John and C.E. Arthur, now Lord Smithfield, the first unit was the 1 Squadron. On 27 November 2018, it was merged with His Royal Army to form the Air Command of the Baustralian Army for reasons of lack of staff. The Chief of the Air Staff became subordinate to the Chief of the General Staff and would have been ranked as an Air Marshal, had the CAS not also been the Chief of the Defence Staff. It separated again on 12 May 2019. Reverting to the previous system and structure as HRAF before. The number of HRAF members dropped again, and was dissolved on 11 June 2019 with the final mustering of the Lord Carleton to His Royal Flying Corps, and was considered in abeyance. On 8 November 2019, it was formed again.

On 20 February 2020, Julian Kostuik was appointed to succeed Lord Carleton as Chief of the Air Staff and was promoted to Air Chief Marshal. After experiencing an all-time peak, the air force grew to two wings, each with two squadrons. After this, many air members transferred to the navy, army, or simply retired, and the strength of the air force dipped. In 2022, the air force was placed in abayence, with air officers being allowed to remain in air uniform, or transfer to the naval or army branches. Most opted to transfer, and the HRAF maintained 1 air officer, the Air Aide-de-Camp. On 15 February 2022, he was placed on the retired list, thus came the dissolution of HRAF.

Structure

HRAF was commanded titularly by the Commander in Chief, John, and professionally by the Chief of the Air Staff, a position last held in an acting capacity by Air Marshal Sir Kaden Wright.

Ranks, classifications, and insignia

HRAF ranks, classifications, and insignia formed part of the uniform of HRAF. The uniforms were based on the uniforms of the Royal Canadian Air Force. The naming scheme of the Royal Air Force is used. Rank insignia is similar to the Canadian design, using the Baustralian crown, and placing the baton and scimitar below the stars.

For air force other ranks, the British scheme is used, while the warrant officer ranks use the royal coat of arms of Baustralia. The Baustralian Crown is used for Flight sergeants.
