The Holstonian Empire (German: Holstonisches Kaiserreich), commonly referred to as Holstonia, is a micronation located on the social media platform Discord. It was founded on 29 August 2022 by CCE I, who serves as the micronation's first Kaiser.

History

Despite the relatively young age of the Holstonian Empire, it has somewhat of an interesting history. The first instance of its existence began on 29 August 2022. It started as an island seed in the video game Minecraft, and was seen as more of an experiment.

The second instance of its existence began on 2 October 2022, when CCE I joined the Kingdom of Cristoria's Discord server. That, combined with its leader King Christopher I influencing his views on micronationalism, helped to revive the project.

On 13 January 2023, the Holstonian Empire officially became a micronation, with its first ally being the Socialist Republic of Cristoria, (then known as the "Republic of Cristoria".)

The Holstonian Empire has been apart of two military operations, one resulting in a war.[1] Those military operations would come to be known as Operation: Blazing Glory and Operation: Blue Vanguard. The Holstonian Empire supported the Socialist Republic of Cristoria and its allies during both. As of today, the Holstonian Empire wishes to opt out of micronational wars, as it views them to be childish.

Government

The Holstonian Empire's governmental structure consists of a tricameral Parliament that has a Legislative, Executive, and Judicial Chamber, as well as a Review, Security, and Military Committee.

The Legislative Chamber writes and passes laws that the Kaiser either approves or vetoes. If laws are approved, they are passed down to the Executive Chamber, where they are put into effect and actively enforced. If a law is deemed unconstitutional after it has been passed, the Judicial Chamber reviews it and decides on whether or not it should be repealed.

The Review Committee examines each Chamber's conduct at the end of each month to determine if corruption or otherwise unconstitutional activities are occurring.[2] The Security Committee keeps tabs on micronations that could potentially threaten the Holstonian Empire's security, and reports information they've gathered to Parliament. The Military Committee assists Parliament in drafting Declarations of war, and gives advice to the Holstonian Military in regards to military operations.
