In 1981, he started singing and released nearly 39 albums in 1984, the most popular one being Aşkım Ah Aşkım. During the time he married Maryam Khaliq in 1988 and gave birth to Mehmed Istanğlu in 1989. In 1997, he retired as a folk singer and joined the Anti-Royalist Guardians of the Tunceli Land (GTL) as the leader in 1997.

Tungristan (1997 - 2022)

After he joined the GTL, he lead the Tunceli Revolution and formed the Provisional Unity of Tungristan in 1998. In 1999, a vote was made if the people wanted to keep the House of Abdulaziz into power or form the Peoples Republic of Tungristan. About 99.1% voted for a Peoples Republic but the rest voted for the House of Abdulaziz. Ibrahim was appointed by the Provisional Council of Tungristan to be the country's Chairman and made reforms during his term making him the second greatest leader of Tungristan after Sultan Abdulaziz. In 2022, he resigned after his health was heavily declining and former GTL Colonel Ali Tatglu took his place but he is in a caretaker position. The Assembly of the Nation voted Ahmet Aliyev as Chairman.
