Johann Kümmel (born 26 August), formerly known within Ponderosa Hills as just johann, was the first King of the Kingdom of Roskya, succeeding Emperor Andreas I on 28 September 2020 following their abdication and reigning until its dissolution.
Micronational career
The micronational career of Johann spans three years, from 2019 to present time. The first verifiable micronation that he was in was a Kingdom of New Prussia, which was ruled by Kleinmann Kümmel from March to April 2019.[2]
Cycoldia
Johann ran as a candidate for Deputy Prime Minister, alongside 3 other candidates, under the Monarchist Party in July 2019. He was elected to the position on 7 July 2019, and was re-elected the following year.
He also ran for General Assembly under the Monarchist Party in July 2019 and September 2020; in March 2021 he announced that he would not be running for a third term. On 5 August 2021, he resigned as Deputy Prime Minister.
Elysium
It is unknown when Johann became a citizen; however, it can be assumed that this occurred sometime in mid-2019. In July, the Principality of Kaiserhof, which he ruled, was merged into Elysium.[2]
Johann ran numerous times for Grand Senator under the Democratic Traditionalist Party, the Libertarian-Progressive Party, the New Elysium Party and the Progressive Party between 2019 and early 2020. In mid-2020 he formed the Democratic Socialist Party, which gained two seats in the May 2020 senatorial election; prior to this, however, he dissolved the party and renounced his citizenship.
Following his return to Elysium in August 2020 he ran as a candidate for Grand Senator under the Rhinoceros Party, a satirical party; he won his seat and would be re-elected in the January 2021 senatorial elections. In March 2021 the Rhinoceros Party was dissolved, leaving Johann and a citizen under the alias "Based Baddie" to form the Pirate Party in April. Despite losing the constituency of Panhandle in the April 2021 senatorial election, he won a list seat within the Grand Senate. He won the constituency of Falls Church the following election.
During the Imperial Day Honours 2022, Johann was awarded Knight Commander of the Order of the Elysiumite Empire.[3] He was awarded Knight Grand Cross of the Order of Robert II during the Imperial Day Honours 2023.[4]
Roskya
Johann was elected to Grand Parliament, under the Liberal Monarchist Party, in the July 2020 general elections. Following the abdication of Kris Hudson in September, he renounced his political affiliation and assumed the title of King. 3 Chancellors have served under him, those three being Brandon Mierzwa, Kris Hudson and Christina Nowell; he has also authored 9 Acts of Parliament. His reign ended upon the dissolution of Roskya on 9 July 2021 via Royal Decree 012.
Ponderosa Hills
Johann was elected to the People's Supreme Assembly following the August 2020 legislative elections. In the January 2021 general elections, he was elected Deputy President and Judge of the Supreme Court.
He served as Chancellor of the University of Ponderosa Hills between 17 March and 5 July 2022.
Micronational sports career
Johann began his micronational sports career in 2020 by representing Roskya in the Micronational Virtual Olympics I. He won one silver and one bronze medal.
In 2022, he represented Ponderosa Hills in the Saspearian Open.
