Jornal de Sancratosia (English: Journal of Sancratosia), is the official government gazette of the Government Council of Sancratosia. It was first published on 17 December 2021 (2021-12-17). A piece of legislation needs to be published in the bulletin to be considered valid in the Principality of Sancratosia.

It is a state corporation responsible to the Ministry of State under the Department of Documentation.

Legal status

While not widely read by citizens, publication in the journal is considered official notice to all Sancratosians.

After an official act is promulgated by the official authority, it is published in the journal. An official act that has been promulgated but not published in the journal is not considered legally valid. No provisions may be made in an act to counter this requirement.

Publishing

Since its first publication, the journal is published online weekly on Fridays. It usually follows a hierarchy of acts, where the acts promulgated by the Sovereign Princess are ranked higher. It also contains public notices and sometimes declarations by government officials.

Hierarchy of acts

The hierarchy of acts is usually the following:

  1. Statements from the Sovereign House of the Principality of Sancratosia (including the State of the Principality Speech)
  2. Sovereign Ordinances
  3. Laws (including Codes)
  4. Ministerial Decrees
  5. Municipal Regulations
  6. Judicial Decisions
  7. Proposed Laws
  8. Reports (including the Budget and Policies)
  9. Treaties
  10. Jurisprudence
  11. Public Notices
