The July 2022 Georgienstinian congressional election was held on 23–24 July 2022.

It resulted in a Georgienstine First victory, with the party keeping its majority and making unexpected minor gains. Vision Georgienstine suffered losses due to low voter turnout among its supporters. Change Georgienstine lost its sole seat due to low voter turnout among its supporters.

Background

The May 2022 Georgienstinian congressional election resulted in Georgienstine First remaining as the majority party and Vision Georgienstine gaining one seat. Both parties' gains in the popular vote and seats were attributed to the dissolution of the Communist Party.

On 1 June 2022, Thomas Jacobs won the speaker election receiving 9 votes, to Addison Dillons's 4, with 3 not voting.

On 7 July 2022, Jacobs resigned as speaker, following the introduction of articles of impeachment by fellow Georgienstine First congressman Sean Dunkerque. Jacobs had already faced criticism in the past from the Minority Caucus.

On 20 June 2022, the Solidarity Party left the Vision Georgienstine alliance and formed the Change Georgienstine alliance with the Social Democratic and Labour Party.

Electoral system and organization

The National Congress is composed of 16 seats elected by proportional representation in a single nationwide constituency, with a legal threshold of 1 full seat (6.25%), and residuals assigned by the D’Hondt method.

The campaign was significantly connected to campaigning for the 2022 Georgienstinian presidential election.

Georgienstine First

On 14 July 2022, Georgienstine First released its congressional list. They campaigned heavily in support of incumbent president Raphaël Olivier.

Vision Georgienstine

On 15 July 2022, Vision Georgienstine released its congressional list. The list was released by Nicolas Caiazzo and not Minority Leader Ben Olson. They campaigned heavily to support their presidential nominee Ben Olson.

Change Georgienstine

On 17 July 2022, Change Georgienstine released their congressional list. They campaigned heavily in support of presidential candidate Sullivan Matthews.
