His Excellency the General (retired) Karifa Sanfo, OBS (Bordeaux, 29 April 1993 - ) is a retired Military Officer of the St.Charlie Armed Forces and former Overseas Ambassador of the Federal Republic of St.Charlie. He joined the Ambassadorial Council on July 2, 2009, and was removed from office on March 26, 2011, after a vote by the Council who gave him the title of Honorary Diplomat.

He served as Chief of Staff of the St.Charlie Armed Forces from January 5 to June 30, 2009, nominated by Alexander Reinhardt. Throughout his mandate, he organized and formed the basic structure of the Armed Forces, which, in the beginning of 2009, were still at the levels of the post-Revolutionary era.

Appearing on the 10 Pianeta banknote since 2009, he is remembered as one of the most important military officers in the history of the St.Charlie Armed Forces, if not the most important one.

Career in the Army

Karifa as Chief of Staff of the SCAF

Karifa Sanfo is appointed General and Chief of the Army the 5th of January, after he gained St.Charlian citizenship through the New Ridgeway federation. His charisma and tactical skills made him one of the most active members of the SCAF. He was also in charge of the recruitment into the St.Charlian Armed Forces of citizens and of the St.Charlie Military Police. that he helped establishing.

He resigned from the title of Chief of Staff and received a Honorable discharge (together with the Meritorious Service Cross) from the SCAF on the 30th of June 2009 due to his transfer to the city of Singapore, in where he couldn't have been able to fulfill his duties as an Army General. He was however offered a place as a Diplomatic representative; a place that he accepted to take on the 2nd of July.

He was temporarily succeded by Colonel Alessio Giovanrosa.

Present and future

General Sanfo has been and still is one of the most influential characters of St.Charlie: during his term as Chief of the Armed Forces, he directly participated with Alexander Reinhardt in international issues related to military and conflicts which eventually would have involved St.Charlie. Fortunately, the Federal Republic has never been invloved in wars during his term.

The 16th of February, 2009, he was nominated Knight of the Order of the Blue Star, then promoted to Officer on March 3. On the 30th of June, he was the first recipient of the Meritorious Service Cross, thanks to his meritorious service in the Department of the Army and the Department of Defense.

He accepted to become Overseas Ambassador on the 2nd of July and joined the Ambassadorial Council on the same day. He was removed from office on March 26, 2011, after a prolonged inactivity due to school work.
