Kentia

The Republic of Kentia, more commonly referred to as Kentia, was a micro-nation located in Eastern America. It was completely surrounded by the United States of America. It lays claim to 1.26 square miles of land in central Delaware and 5.27 square miles of land in Southern New Jersey. However, it legally takes up 15.3 square miles in central Delaware. Its largest city is Haeis, home to seven citizens. It was formed in January of 2021, however the legal land has been owned by the President and therefore the Republic since 2006. It was stated by its founders that it would attempt at being a better democracy than the United States of America once was.
It is ruled by a president and a congress with one representative from each of its six states. The government has a diversity of political views, but all of them are within the realm of democratic values.
Its foreign policies is neutral, and rarely takes part in war. It is Isolationist and does not interact with other micro-nations in a way that could seem to violate these policies.
Etymology
The word "Kentia" comes from the English County, Kent, and through that the Delawarean county, Kent, where Kentia is located.
History
Formed on January 21st, 2021, it was declared that the citizens of Kentia would work for a better democracy than what their father country, the United States of America. Their constitution was created on January 28th, 2021
Politics and Government
Kentia was a representative republic. Each of the six states had one representative to represent the people in congress. In order for an act/law to be passed, it has to have at least 4/6 majority of the representative's agreement. The government runs according to the Manus Constitution, a document which describes the rights of the people of Kentia and how it ran. Since the Manus was declared, the two dominant parties have been the Galloic Party and the Hartic Party.
Law and Order
Kentia uses a system similar to America's. Most extreme cases are brought up to the Supreme Court. Criminal records are kept by the Police Department relative to their state.
