History

Early History

The Kingdom of Lutherania was established in 2006 as part of the United Kingdom of Austingar and Lutherania. This Union existed happily for a year until the first Revolution lead to the formation of an Absolute Monarchy in the Kingdom. The kingdom was ruled by King Michael I and Queen Beckie, but after several disputes, civil war broke out in Austingar with King Michael and the people against Queen Beckie and the Aristocracy. Luckily only one battle was fought during the civil war with victory for King Michael and the humiliation of Queen Beckie. The Civil war continued for two more months with the aristocracy supporting absolutism and King Michael wanting a constitution brought into power. In October 2007 Queen Bernie the Queen Mother received Queen Beckie in the Summer Palace, this was a distraction with Duke William seizing King Michael and declaring Queen Beckie sole ruler. Duke William was found out and forced to flee. The King then decreed that Queen Beckie and Duke William were to be stripped of their titles and banished, also for supporting Queen Beckie the Aristocracy was dissolved and thus ended the civil war. In November 2007 the 2nd Austingar revolution took place with the people demanding a written constitution and the removal of the Crown Princess Rebecca. In the result of the Revolution, the Kingdom was dissolved and the Kingdom of Lutherania remained and has since developed a constitution and a state church.

History First ten years

In 2010 Lutherania experienced another Civil war and has come out of this civil war a constitutional monarchy. The Country over the next couple of months would go through various Constitutional changes. see Lutherania Crisis Since the 2010 civil war, the Kingdom of Lutherania has been in a state of peaceful bliss with the nation spending its time and resources on internal issues rather than take play on the international micronational stage. Many have confused this period with inactivity but the nations mechanisms and political operations have carried on with no major changes or concerns. The Imperial Families popularity has come on in leaps and bounds with the addition of HRH Prince Consort Presumptive James. The Nations first prime minister has maintained His Majesty's favor and the support of the Lutheranian people with her policy of peaceful co-operation across the two government departments and the Royal Household. His Majesty opened parliament in 2014 and stated in his speech the option of splitting the Royal Council into two houses, this is yet to be discussed in the timetable. On the 7th June 2014 HI&RH King Michael and HRH Prince consort Presumptive were officially engaged and a date for the Royal wedding was set for 12 August 2016.

Current History

On the 12th August 2016 HI&RH King Michael I married Prince Consort James at Leasowe Castle in the United Kingdom. The following day a letters patent was published from the Winter Palace to Parliament declaring that the Imperial name was henceforth O'neill-Jones and will be so for the continued existence of the monarchy unless changed by letters patent of HI&RH King Michael I. Due to several years of poor governance the office of prime minister was suspended in 2019.

The Kingdom of Lutherania is made up of Several elements.

Lutherania

Firstly is the Kingdom of Lutherania which is where the king and Government reside and it is this element where the nations name comes from.

Mull

The second Element is the Grand Duchy of Mull of which the Kingdom of Lutherania is in personal union with this is the first of four isles of the Kingdom outside of Lutherania.

Government: The Head of State is the Monarch of Lutherania and the government of Lutherania is also the acting government of the Grand Duchy. All laws passed by the Lutheranian Government also become the law of the Grand Duchy.

Relationship with the Crown: In the Grand Duchy the Lutheranian Monarch is represented by a High Lieutenant Governor but this post is largely ceremonial. All 'insular' legislation has to receive the approval of the 'King in Council' in effect the Royal council in Lutherania with a Lutheranian minister being the Privy Councilor with responsibility for the Grand Duchy. The laws of the Grand Duchy are laws passed by the Lutheranian government. The government of Lutherania is solely responsible for defense and international representation. The Grand Duchy is in a personal union with Lutherania but still retains a lot of independence outside of government and defense.

Crown Dependencies

Two crown dependencies also make up part of the nation these are the Crown Dependence of Iona and the Crown Dependence of Ulva.

Government

The Nation his headed by King Michael I within the Imperial Constitution. HI&RH King Michael I is the Head of state whilst the Prime Minister is the Head of the Government but does not have executive power only legislative power.

The Nation also has a parliament which contains two houses, the Royal Council and the grand synod.

  • The Royal Council: The Royal council is made up of members of the imperial family and are there to help the King with the rulings of the nation. The council is to listen to the people and to create laws to benefit the Nation and people. The Imperial Council has two political parties: The Lutherania Loyalist and Unionist Party and the Lutheranian Republican Party. At present, the Prime Minister is The Right Honoury Lady Beth.
  • The Grand Synod: The Imperial Synod is the representative body of the Church of Lutherania and its job is to deal with the running and maintaining of the Lutheranian church and to give advice to the King.


Office of Prime Minister

The Prime Minister of Lutherania is the head of the legislature of the Kingdom. The Prime Minister sits in Parliament as the Monarch's First Minister and Representative. The prime minister presides over the Royal Council in producing laws, amending of laws or the repeal of laws with the assent of the Monarch. The PM can be called upon when the Monarch exercises their executive power. The Monarch cannot produce a bill for parliament only parliament or the PM can as the legislature. The Monarch is in control of foreign affairs with advice from the PM when required. The commander in chief remains the Monarch but works alongside parliament when determining military policy.

Provisions

The Imperial Council is governed by to provisions: the provisions of Halewood and the provisions of St Catherine. The Provisions help outline the function of government within the Kingdom and also set out the rights and privileges of Parliament.
The Provisions of Halewood The said above provision is applied to the Imperial Council as a whole and sets out its rights and privileges to each house respectively. "..To declare war in His Majesty's name with His Consent.." "..To raise and Maintain taxes.." "..The synod MAY NOT effect the outward politics of the church.."
The Provisions of St Catherine The said above Provision is applied to The Church, The Archbishop and the Grand Synod and sets out their rights and privileges. "..To pass measures dealing with the government of the church and its institutions.." "..Church legislation is passed by the archbishop and then the monarch.." "..Must abide by the book of church law, 39 articles, and measures of the Grand Synod.."

Imperial House

The Monarchy has ruled the Kingdom since its creation in 2006 and has been ruled by the House of O'neill-Jones ever since. The Imperial Family are the power behind Lutherania and form the Main governance of the Nation. His Imperial & Royal Highness King Michael I has been the King since the Nations birth in September 2006. His Majesty is the Absolute ruler of the nation and head of the Imperial Family. The King is also Head of the Lutherania armed forces and Is the Supreme Governor of the Church of Lutherania. Other members of the Imperial Family include Princess Jess, Princess Ann-Marie Duchess of Austingar and HRH the Princess Elsie-Marie Taylor the Heiress Presumptive.

Intelligence Agencies

SID: Secret intelligence Developement

SID gathers intelligence and information from SIBI and produces reports to present to the government and the Monarch as well as the possible outcomes of the information gathered.

SIBI: Secret Intelligence Bureaux of Investigations

SIBI has the means at its disposal as stated in the law to use whatever means to gather information about actions against the Crown, Government, people and Nation. SIBI must keep an eye out for terrorism and espionage to counter these and help protect the Nation.

Aristocracy

Cuture

The Church of Lutherania

The Church of Lutherania was set up by Royal Decree in June 2008. The church was established by two acts of the Imperial Council upon His Majesty's signing of the "first act of supremacy 2008" and "Act of the establishment of the church of Lutherania 2008". The Monarch is Supreme Governor of the Church of Lutherania in the same style as Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is in England. The current Monarch His Majesty King Michael I has all the powers invested in him by the act of supremacy but these powers are carried out by the Archbishop on his behalf The Archbishop of Lutherania is the next highest ranking official from the church of Lutherania and carries out the Supreme Governorship of the Church on the advice of the Monarch. The Archbishop also carries out services for the Imperial Family as well as citizens of the Kingdom. The Church itself is based on the protestant reformed church very similar to those of England and other Northern European protestant countries.

Language

The Official State Language is true English, however, French is also recognized as an official Language within the Kingdom.
