The Kingdom of Seluvia, more commonly known as Seluvia, is a micronation in Australia that was founded in 2022. It was founded in 2022 by Eli Hillman.
Etymology
Seluvia's name doesn't really come from anywhere, it was just randomly made up by the founder.
History
Foundation Era
Seluvia declared independence from Australia on the 31st of May, 2022, under King Eli I of Seluvia, then applied to join the Micronational Assembly on the 28th of August, 2022, and was approved the next day.
Seluvia renamed from the Republic of Seluvia to the Kingdom of Seluvia on the 27th of September, 2022, because the nation was a monarchy, and the current king, King Eli I of Seluvia, thought it was a better name.
On the 27th of December, 2022, Seluvia founded the Empire of Pacoluvia with the now dissolved Kingdom of Pacolies. The Empire was short lived however, as the Kingdom of Pacolies left the empire on the 5th of January, 2023. Seluvia refused to leave the empire however, and renamed it to the Seluvian Commonwealth.
On the 9th of February, 2023, The Seluvian Commonwealth was dissolved, and the Kingdom of Seluvia became an independent nation. This was due to many in Seluvia seeing the Commonwealth as a pointless nation, only making the running of the Kingdom harder.
Expansion Era
On the 14th of February, 2023, Seluvia took over the Empire of Capetia, renaming it to the Seluvian Autonomous Territory of Capetia. This was a result of a rising ideology in Seluvia called Seluvian Expansionism, and this takeover only made it stronger. This would lead to aggressive expansion of territory in the future.
On the same day, ArjunXY invited the Kingdom of Seluvia to the Arjunist Union, which would kick off a long negotiation process which would not end for a month.
On the 20th of February, 2023, Seluvia gave the now North Mernda to Rycocia, with Rycocia making it an archduchy called "New Seluvia".
On March 4th, Seluvia held an election, and the Arjunist Party of Seluvia won, forming the government. They would attempt to pass a series of reforms granting more power to ArjunXY and the Premier, but they were all rejected by the House of Rulers.
On March 14th, Emperor Oreson I of Rycocia abdicated from the throne, and gave the whole nation of Rycocia to Seluvia. Seluvia is currently attempting to reunify the nations, like they were unified under the Empire of Pacoluvia.
Politics and government
Seluvia is a democratic country that has only 1 house of parliament. Members are elected by voting in a way similar to Australia, where you vote for a party. The first election, 2022, was cancelled and postponed to 2023 due to a lack of any voters, and the King appointed Riley Harrison as the Prime Minister.
The second Seluvian election in March of 2023 was won by the Arjunist Party of Seluvia, and thus took control of the House of Representatives. They tried to pass several reforms, but nearly all of them were blocked by the House of Rulers.
Law and order
The constitution of Seluvia is available on the Kingdom of Seluvia discord server, along with the acts passed by the King/Queen and Parliament.
Foreign relations
Seluvia was a kingdom in the Empire of Pacoluvia, which was a member of the Micronational Assembly, and so they recognize all nations in the Micronational Assembly. Seluvia is in a personal union with the Empire of Rycocia, and the two nations are basically independent except for their ruler. Seluvia is a member of the Empire of Lehmark's commonwealth.
Military
Seluvia doesn't have a large military, but it has one troop, who is also their leader. They are equipped with several Nerf guns, and can also fight online using video games.
Geography and climate
Seluvia is located in a house in Melbourne, Australia. They currently own approx. 1140 m² of land in the Melbourne Sector, and an unknown amount of land outside of the Melbourne Sector, but claim the entirety of the Whittlesea City Council.
Economy
Seluvia's GDP is approx. $0, but there is a bit of farming on the land that Seluvia controls. We grow a bit of lemons.
Culture and media
Seluvian culture is very similar to Australian culture, if not identical. The nation has it's own language, however.
